How do you navigate getting a referral on a platform like this? Genuinely curious on if HR/Recruiting asks how you know the person you're referring, or if they don't care where the referral comes from.
Really interested in a junior PM role at Razorfish. A close friend currently works for a different Publicis org, so not sure if a referral from them would mean anything.
How long does it take to prep for GMAT?
I applied for some senior positions at AbbVie online 2 weeks ago. The status appears as “resume received” for some positions, status of one position appears as “under review” while another position shows “in progress”. Any idea how long their hiring team takes to get back following the application?
Recently Store Managers have been offering me jobs from different locations but same company in my town. The company is T-Mobile. It’s going to be my first job. I have a couple questions for any former/current employees. Is it better to work for T-Mobile, metro by T-Mobile, or a third party T-Mobile? Any difference in benefits or wage? Thanks

OP - “your experience will speak for itself” comment rubbed me the wrong way. I am sure you are smart and accomplished but I can guarantee you that there are hundreds and thousands similarly qualified individuals out there.
Good luck with your McKinsey process. I hope you get the job/interview but I would suggest a quick check of how many URI alum at McKinsey. That will give you a sense of the likelihood (how many does McKinsey hire from URI a year). Without looking, my guess is 0 or 1. So you literally need to be the valedictorian of your graduating class to get the offer. PE is even more difficult to crack than McKinsey.
I didn’t mean to sound full of myself, I’m sorry for that. But I will take your tips and keep trying

PE here. PEs only have very little internship programs because we do not have a large team nor infrastructure in place to handle and manage it.
Each Associate class (even the biggest firm) is likely a handful (or two handful), unlike consulting firms that have hundreds and thousands of new joiners every year.
Much more difficult to develop given the specificities of skills so we expect people to already basically hit the ground running
Do you have any relevant work experience and / or connection.
PE is hard to break into from targets let alone non targets.
I have some connection but no programs within the connections. My experience will speak for itself in my resume. I have a lot of leadership experience and I have experience creating the finance section for a habitat for humanity: ReStore business plan. I applied to the McKinsey and Co. program but have yet to to hear anything. I would love a shot and want to show you my critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Network, network, network and build relationships
I’d recommend spending some time on WSO if you’re interested in PE. Everyone I know who worked in PE for undergrad had a family/friend connection or had campus alum connecting them.
