What's everyone doing this weekend? 🥳
In my experience, it’s best to work your way up through customer service to other support teams. That will get your foot in the door to bigger projects and can get you on the path for other career opportunities. I went the customer service Quality Assurance route and I really love it. I joined a QA team as an entry level analyst on 2016 and now I run a team at a new startup, building out the program from the ground up.
If QA isn’t your thing, see if you can shadow other teams like Workforce Management, Product, etc for ways to eventually get more experience. Avoid making lateral customer service moves since customer service can only get you so far. I was in your shoes not long ago and I know how much customer support can suck, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel if you’re a good performer and loop your manager into your career goals. Nobody will look out for your career more than you, so you have to make a true effort to grow past entry level roles into something bigger. Once that happens so many other opportunities will open up. Feel free to DM me with any questions, best of luck to you!
