Hi everyone! Slight dilemma here. I was just offered a full time role, that I do not want, but it gives me benefits. Right now I’m making good money but as a sub-contractor. I am working with recruiters to completely change careers, but falling flat. I just moved back to the states after getting my MFA in London, but my field is struggling.

Hello, first post here. Outside sales, merchant services/card processing. I’m primarily a welder but I work 4 10-hour shifts typically then I try sales the last three days. I’ve done it long enough to where I’m confident and comfortable going to new businesses, establishing some rapport with business owners. But it seems like a lot of businesses see this as a waste of time, even adding services and cutting costs. I guess either I’m looking for advice or considering not doing this anymore.

Fixed 27 lpa + 12% variable +
1.5 lpa practice premium (to be added to fixed part but not counted during appraisals or performance bonus calculation) +
4 lacs deferred bonus (to be paid out after completing 6 months)

Currently an LSA at Deloitte USI Advisory with 7.5 YOE and 20 lpa fixed

Thoughts on making a major career change at a company you are relatively happy at, for compensation reasons? Found out my counterparts in the US are making SIGNIFICANTLY more than me. I understand cost of living differences are a factor but this difference is very demotivating. My tenure is over 15 years vs 1 and 5 years respectively. Comp is $138k canandian + 20% bonus vs $230k USD + 25% bonus
And I’m responsible for the whole country, all aspects including international tax vs narrow scope
