Always baffled how in America we hire a director and an editor separately for the most part. And that many directors don’t supervise the edit. If you hire a director, aren’t you hiring for the vision they bring? And if so, wouldn’t you want that to translate thru the edit? In some other parts of the world the director has in house editors and it’s an orchestrated thing.

I got a surprise poor review on a project. I was expecting an average rating. This also throws a kink in my promotion case. Some background: I think that someone else on our team raised questions around the project lead’s behavior/management style, which had some issues. It was not me who reported him. I think a junior resource reported him. So I think the review is overly harsh because it is retaliatory. I did not report him because I was trying to “carry the project”. What should I do?
