Can anyone provide some sound advice to anxieties over return to office? Does anyone have tips for how to bring up concerns to a manager? Have you returned to the office and how has that gone?

I think it’s crazy when managers don’t understand this. It’s unprecedented times and comfort comes back at a personal pace. As long as it’s not a work ethic concern, no issue with my team staying home until they are ready. But they better be accessible!

like

I agree! It’s like they’re deciding what my comfort level is and I don’t agree and it’s making me have panic attacks already!

Be honest - be yourself. A good manager will help you figure it out and adjust to your comfort level and specific needs or concerns.

That is excellent advice. Thank you

I would view the productivity from at home vs in the office and weigh the pros and cons

These are my concerns as well. I’m not looking forward to the constant distractions and conversations after not seeing coworkers for over 2 years now…

I would just be open & talk to your manager about how you’re feeling. Be honest with yourself & them about your reasons. If you have social anxiety their might be options for you to be granted flexibility on start/finish times or other measures to help you transition & build back your confidence. If its simply that you prefer to WFH for personal reasons then you need to consider what a reasonable request might be. Ultimately your company is likely to have a policy & any manager will need to consider your needs as well as the needs of others & that of the business. Perhaps think of framing the conversation & using open questions, for example “I’ve really found that WFH has had <insert benefits> on my performance. Its really important to me that I can find the right balance moving forwards as I’m concerned about <insert concerns>. Can you help me understand how can I take this forward ? What support can you offer ? Personally I was initially nervous about returning because my partner is shielding but once I was back that all melted away & I actually started to realise how much I needed interaction with others & how much it improved my mental well-being. Hope this helps.

Update: In his IG stories, Paul states that Karine has filed a restraining order preventing him from contacting her or Pierre. On IG, he also posted what looks to be Karine’s statement to the police. The statement does have explicit descriptions of DV/SV and may be triggering, so I did not include it here but you can easily find it on his account if wanted. I hope they all get the help they need.

Getting ready to pitch a plan for consulting services to be offered by our firm. I have initial thoughts for what I've seen as a need in our market. Is there one or two things that you wish your clients would work with accounting consultants to improve? Or if you are working at a company, one or two things that you struggle with when it comes to closing your books timely every month, being prepared for audits, or even information you struggle to get out of your system in a usable manner?

Is there a special title at your company for a Project Manager that works on product development and not an IT project manager?

An example might include launching a new product from conception through form writing, rating, filing, programming, training, and implementation, or the transfer of products from an acquisitions writing company to ours.

Is it common in the industry for licensed insurance agents to not get any commissions on a referral in which you personally write the policy? Ex: If a current client refers a prospect to our team, I would not receive commission. Additionally, if I write a policy for friends/family I would get a small incentive but it’s a fraction of the commission producers make.
Management is considering changing this going forward. However, I’m not sure how I should react if they keep things how they are now.
