Isn’t that like every recruiter or am i missing something lol

Recruiters work for firms and companies (they pay our fees) that being said if we have a highly placable candidate we will often work with that type of candidate because we think we have multiple clients that would hire them.

I hope that explains the relationships between recruiter client and candidate a little bit better.

Just me? I don’t get it. I’ve interviewed for 3 large companies for a financial analyst (FP&A) position. Never heard back after 2nd-3rd round but I see all 3 being reposted. These positions at least have 100-200+ applicants. For my last job interview I made it to the 3rd round after 2 rounds and an excel test. Hiring manager even said they had to interview other applicants before coming to a decision (all 3rd round applicants passed excel test) and now none of them are qualified for the job?

If you are really interested in a position and company and the recruiter is late or doesn't show up to the first recruitment call, what is your process to address this? I emailed the recruiter 10 mins after our call was supposed to start, asking her if she was still available to talk or if another time today was convenient. Any other suggestions?

First step in an "interview" process a design test? Feels like a red flag...

I just received an email asking me to complete a design test as the first step in one company's interview process. I have had no correspondence other than my application, and I followed up to make sure I hadn't missed anything — I hadn't. Thankful to have some other irons in the fire, so not actively pursuing this role. To me this feels like a "run" situation. Would you agree, or have you experienced this elsewhere?

Hi, Can someone please connect me to the recruiter/HR?
There is a Test Engineer (Automation) opening in Google which I see on LinkedIn. It seems relevant. Applied a few times already but I don't think submitting resume is helping here.
Also, I hear HR at Google helps candidate prepare for the interview as well.
Any help would be appreciated. TIA 😊

Is letting a firm or recruiter know that you are willing to “taking a lap, associate year, etc.” for a certain job/firm a bad call? My thought is that it shows interest in the firm/opportunity (and that you’re willing to take a bit less $$$), but want to confirm this would not be perceived negatively.

Crossposted. Looking for advice. I’ve got 10+ years as an attorney and have been trying to go in house for over a year. I have a generalist background (although I’m primarily a litigator) and was a partner at an Amlaw 100 firm. I’ve had my resume reviewed and keep getting great feedback. Not getting many interviews and when I do, I’m not getting offers despite positive interviews. How do I differentiate myself? Should I get some sort of certification or specialty? This is getting depressing.

Is being a legal recruiter very cut throat? Obviously you're competing with recruiters from other recruiting firms, but given it's a commission based model, I would think there's some level of cut throatness even within the same recruiting firm. The fact that it seems like the recruiter market is pretty saturated, as well, probably doesn't help? Any insights/experiences would be appreciated, thanks!

Anyone have tips for asking for more than you think you're worth? Because of the employment market there's a job which is about a 20K jump for me but it's been open for a year so I'm pretty sure I can get something additional out of them. Would it be appropriate to ask for 10K above the jump? Or should I just count my blessings and leverage my ability to underprice other applicants
