Friend of mine was supposed to receive an offer (told verbally) from Deloitte and then just found out they are pausing on hiring the role. How common is that? Seems wildly unprofessional that none of the partners called and instead it was the recruiter conveying that news. At McKinsey, if that happened, the head of the practice or the office would personally make the phone call at the very least.

I have my own business start up and was just offered a position that would be a steady check and allow me to somewhat keep at building my own thing. Should I go all in on the start up or fund?

I was put into PIP in my first company. I believed my manager said that it's only for improvement. I signed it. Later realized it's a termination plan. So I quit the company. But after 5 years I got a call from my First company HR for another role, I was happy to take that opportunity. But later HR called me and said they couldn't proceed for some reason. For those who do med mal - is it similar or worse than ID? Do the cases take a toll or does it feel good to defend doctors who are overworked and trying? Thinking of hiring a birthing Doula. Just talked her one last week. She would hold two 1.5 hr sessions pre-birth, one post-birth, and then be present through the whole labor and delivery.

For that I was quoted $1600. that doesn’t seem outrageous to me except that the price stays the same even if I end up needing a scheduled C-section. In that case it feels like I get way less for my money since I won’t need anyone to help me through labor.

Is this kind of pricing standard for Doulas?

I've worked with an organisation for 9 months and resigned as I got good offer from a new company. As the existing company is going through financial crises they didn't allow me to serve notice period, I had to accept it and leave reluctantly.
During my full and final settlement I requested the HRs of old organization to encash my ELs, but they said it's applicable for employees who have completed 1year in organization, for which I checked HR handbook for any mentions but it's not.

I joined Accenture 7 months ago and was tagged to a support project. IDOC reprocessing majorly. I didn't want to do that so asked for a release and I was told, since I am a project hire, I can ask for a release only after 1.5 years working on the project. So I started searching jobs outside.
I got an offer from TCS with 50% on my fixed and also an assurance of being deployed to an implentation project.
