For in-house roles, comp will track general HR roles (eg biz partner) by level and industry. General industry roles could be total comp of $150 to $700 depending on level of seniority. I’d say anything in the $200 to $400 range seems fair assuming your 1 or 2 levels from CHRO and not at a company with really deep pockets.

like

In house you’ll typically report to a CLO or CTO. So that’ll be N-2 from CHRO. Probably anywhere from 250-500 cash with further LTI on top depending on size and scale of company and how senior the N-2 is in the scheme of the hierarchy

Depends on the responsibilities of the role and the company. If you are an individual contributor who is managing a business unit LD program, you could find yourself at the manager level making $125k. Some teams are huge with various level employees.

I’m on the verge of getting an offer from a startup company that was acquired by a $2bn company. I make $70k & no bonus. The offer would be $105k base+10% bonus. To get to the TC the startup is offering, it would take 3-4 years in my DTE at Accenture. The title is 3 titles up from what I currently am. However, it’s a step down from a brand perspective and I’d mostly be working with older people vs. people my age. Thoughts? Opinions?

The cost of living calculator said I would need to have a 51% salary increase in order to have the same lifestyle in NYC. I’m currently making ~105k, which means I should make $158k to maintain my standard of living. My standard of living currently is that I’m single, have a one bedroom apartment for $1700/mth + utilities, no pets and no car. I like to cook during the week, and dine out on weekends. Prefer workout classes to a standard gym. Is this CoL accurate?

Have a call tomorrow to discuss an offer for IP director of a series c startup. I was told early on by HR that the comp was 180 base + bonus and equity. Can anyone provide insight on what type of bonus and equity I should expect? I believe bonus should be provided as a target % of base, but I’m not well versed in equity. The company is a Bay Area ag tech company but my position is fully remote. I have 6.5 YOE (but 5 of those years were as a patent agent).

Seems like a lot of questions on partner comp and net worth. Here is the rule of thumb: 1) Big 4 partners make $600K to $1.5m based on seniority and practice. 2) MBB partners make $1m -3m based on seniority Typically your expenses are between $100-300k. Add Taxes to it, that’s the amount you add every year. About 6-10% return yearly on the savings. So net worth of partners are probably between $3m to $20m depending on which company and seniority, investment profile, etc. Where am I wrong?

My team has started ignoring my messages. I’m not sure what I did; I’ve been getting good feedback on my performance, I don’t message excessively often, and I don’t think I’ve done anything to cause social discomfort. The project is busy, but honestly workloads have been lighter than they used to be because we brought in additional resources, so that doesn’t explain the shift in communication styles. I used to feel like a useful team member but now I feel like an annoyance. What should I do?
