Anyone else feel a little uneasy that the industry press is praising a CMO who fired the agency who resurrected KFC, ran one of the most brutal pitch processes in years and has immediately made the work much worse?

Ritz Carlton is KL is a brilliant property.
I stayed at the St Regis in KL for work and it was probably my best hotel experience ever. Incredible service, plus lots of empty suites they will upgrade you to if you have Platinum. Only drawback is that it is by KL Sentra which is the central train station but is really a 10-15 minute Uber to the action (which isn’t bad and is pretty cheap).
Hotels in KL are dirt cheap, so I would recommend you splurge on the Ritz or St Regis for sure (I hear the JW is also great.
I stayed at the Aloft in KL on points, 3k a night if I recall. Nicest Aloft I’ve ever stayed in and I wasn’t looking for a fancy property since I was only in KL for a few days in between other cities. Good location though KL is poorly designed and confusing to navigate. I got lost a lot!
Yeah I almost stayed in that Aloft, that rooftop pool looked great. Agreed on the city, definitely not a grid, I could never drive there. I walked from Sentral to Bukit Bintang with my GPS and still almost got lost, was a really cool walk though.
Also OP, if booking with points stay at a nonluxury, the point redemption on Ritz and St Regis aren’t worth it since the hotels themselves are pretty cheap.
I prefer the Westin or JW when in Kuala Lumpur for their location.
Stayed at KL Aloft for vacation. I love the chic and modern design of the hotel rooftop pool was really amazing. Great local food buffet at the hotel restaurant. It is located at KL central (basically like the Grand Central of KL) so it is very very convenient. One of the best hotels I stayed and it is not expensive (points or cash)
Second Ritz Carlton in Singapore as well as JW in KL. Both are great properties and the JW has a good location.
Agree re value for points guidance by D1 though. I paid cash at the RC in Singapore
Have stayed in the Sheraton Imperial. Was a nice hotel but didn’t love the location. It was in a super congested area across the street from a fairly underwhelming mall.
