Interviewing for principal program manager at Microsoft. 2 questions: 1. While levels.FYI suggested the TC, what do you think is the ideal split between RSU vs base vs bonus? Level 65. 2. If we choose RSU as 60k, and the vesting is 25% for 4 years, what does the TC look like for the 2nd year?

I work at a small shop, and my salary was cut 20% bc.. 2020. The shop has sustained, but not making as much as projected. I love my job and the people, I’m closely connected to leadership and know they genuinely would love to bring my salary back, and more if they were in a financial spot to do so. I don’t want to leave, so considering what my options to make it work. Maybe asking for an extra day off so I can freelance, other ideas? Advice on how to approach the conversation?

There was a similar post here recently, but I am currently in the same boat. (I’m also torn because it’s a difference of $2k/month after taxes) 1. Boring work at start up with a toxic environment (no WLB, etc) for just over $200k base + bonus + equity 2. Solid work at an award-winning shop (and WLB) with a team you dig, trust, and have worked with before for $150K

I am due to take 2 weeks parental leave sometime in the next month and have an offer lined up. Is it better to tell the new place I would prefer to push my start date to take my leave and join two weeks after (accounting for 2 weeks of notice when I get back)? Would that be burning a bridge with current firm (taking leave and giving notice as soon as I am back)? I want to avoid losing 2 weeks of salary during that time if I can.

I know this isn’t exactly an investment question, but when student loans unfreeze, should I pay down a chunk of my high-interest (>7%) loans before refinancing or just go straight for the refinance? Newly promoted experienced hire SC making $113k, 10 YOE (switched industries). Got an offer from TCS in an Advisory practice (not the tech sweatshop stuff that I keep seeing people mention). Base salary is $190k and in TCS equivalent of a M role. Downside to taking the salary hike and boomeranging back to D in ~2 years? FYI - I have 2 kids, so that kind of pay raise is kind of a big deal.

I received an offer from Big 4 for an SC3 role. The offer states that I will be eligible for a salary adjustment in Oct 2022. What does this mean? Is that when annual raises occur, or will they review my performance and determine if I should be promoted to manager? I have enough YOE for a manager, but the team recommends that I come in as SC3 to learn how things are done since I have no prior consulting experience.

Have an offer in industry. It’s a relatively new company that is growing fast and lots of opportunity to move up quickly and make a difference. Salary increase wouldn’t be large but enough to make a difference. My heart wants to do it but there is risk involved - not as much stability as the Big 4 company I work for and I’m supporting a family. What do I do? Follow my passion or stay in the safe zone given things are still up in the air with Covid? I appreciate your opinion fishes!

Anyone know much about routers? My father in Leander has an incredibly fast Asus router, but his home is 7,000 sq ft and the signal completely dies when you go up the stairs to their mother in law suite where their tv is.
