I'm out of the loop on the job market for new grads. In public accounting, what is typically offered in new hire packages these days? Signing bonus? Relocation/moving expenses if a new hire is moving cross country (or is that only for experienced hires)?

Partners or whomever can help me understand about billing and hours. To keep things simple, let’s say you only have one staff to work 1,700 billable hours a year on a $60k salary and you have only one job that and the rate charged to the client is $300/hour and an projected hours budget of 1,700 hours. So ideally you would have revenue of $510k. If the staff takes less time partners make less money and if they take more time partners make more money while the staff keeps the same salary?

I don't understand the point of hiring candidates. Its been more than two months and i am sitting idle. There is no updates from management. I am getting info like i will get half salary this month because of the bench policy. I m confused what to do next

I am done with all my rounds at S&P Global and shared my documents to HR. No one has asked about my expected salary yet. Is this usual in their process. How much can I ask for an experience of 9 years. How many days does it take to release the offer and what is the slary structure.

Is it a wise career decision to go from a national firm to a local but strong firm? Practiced with the national firm for a year and a half. The firms are the same type of law, but the smaller firm has less billable requirements and is offering higher salary/better bonus structure as well as more independence such as ability to completely run own case load.

Recently I have decided to leave and have started doing initial interviews with very large firms. When the question of compensation always comes up of course I want to say the highest number possible. Is this a turn off? Ie: Amazon is ran by Java, SQL, and AWS for the most part right? so a full stack developer at Amazon would be competent in those “tech stacks”. However— when I see the word “full stack developer” used as a job title to describe broad categories

Just received an offer with expected / standard salary for role but no signing or relocation bonus. They know I don’t have any other offers which is why I assume they didn’t offer any signing bonus - do I have any chance of getting one without “leverage”?

I currently work as a civil engineer/project manager for a county government. I recently applied to a private consulting firm and they are now working on an offer package to send over.

While I'd like to jump to the private side for several reasons (higher salary my #1), with the current macro economic uncertainties, I have some concern making the switch from a (generally) stable government job to a less stable (?) private company.
