Hello! Luckily I have landed an Administrative Support Full Time job in a top university in Canada! I’m aiming to grow as a HR professional & want to see myself as an HR expert! I’ve come from a completely different background ( healthcare) but I have always tried to have transferable skills like interpersonal, relationship building skills, public speaking etc. My question is by accepting this job ( administrative clerk ) am I taking the right step towards HR expert in long term?

I’m about to graduate with a B.S. in healthcare management in the December. I plan on being a part time graduate student pursuing an MBA with a specialization in health administration. What university do you recommend I attend? I’m looking for one that is CAHME accredited, could be in Florida, Georgia, or Texas and offers a lot of scholarships. I’m also concerned about post-graduate life. How/where do I secure a well paying career right after I graduate with my degree?

A friend of mine works with TCS as an Analyst, his base location is Bengaluru but he is been working from his hometown in Lucknow since the first COVID lockdown. Now he is being asked by his team to work from Ahmedabad, where his direct supervisor (manager) is working from. In this case, according to TCS talent policies, what is the procedure and the benefits that he can avail, as part of project initiated relocation? Also, how long it takes to get base location changed through HR in TCS?

I have 3 yrs experience as a virtual admin, 20 industry. An OSJ wants to hire me to virtually assist 3 advisors at a CU w/ 150M AUM. Expectation is to pitch in on other needs outside of these advisors, long hours. Last min I was told this isn’t a direct hire at first, but via a placement agency for 3-6 mo. “This is how we do things nowadays. We’ll see how it goes.” I’ve already had a launch call w/ the CU, they love me. The hourly rate seems pitiful. The agency benefits suck. What $ seems fair?

Covered in Seth Godin email, In Search of Poka- Yokes, Nov 14, 2021 ". . . Your car might not let you switch to Drive unless you press the brake first. It was easier than teaching people how to use the pedals the way they were intended."
