Can anyone tell me the differences (whether pros or cons) they’ve noticed between Adderall and any of the alternatives out there? I’ve only taken adderall for years but am considering switching. Wise?

Adderall gives me less of a cognitive boost than Vyvanse, so I tend to take Vyvanse during the week and Adderall on weekends.

I also find the energy boost from Vyvanse has more of an agitated edge to it than with Adderall.

ETA: I tried Concerta before Vyvanse and it sent me into a depressive spiral.

thank you! really appreciate this insight

Vyvanse has a smoother up and down over 8-12 hours depending on dosage. Preferred it over Adderall until it deadpanned my mood and suppressed my appetite too much. Worth a try, medication affects everyone a bit differently.

thank you!

Seconded on depression with Concerta, thought it was me until my therapist pinpointed the correlation.

Interesting on the depression piece with concerta...my adhd sends me in depression spirals without meds. I’m on concerta now and I find it smooths out my lows a bit more. I still get down after heavy periods of med use but my lows are not as low. I am also in psychotherapy so that may be helping minimize the lows. But this definitely proves everyone has different biochemistry! As for adderall...I basically felt like I was having a panic attack every time I was on it. It did not sit well with me. However maybe I should try vyvanse sometime...

I should add that I also feel a little more irritable when I am one meds for longer stretches of time. I have multiple dosages so I can play with the amount I use each day. I am finding in the current situation with covid that I need to be on my meds every day

like

Yeah everyone that's saying Vyvanse is spot on.

Have had good overall experience with Vyvanse so far but did find that if the dose was a little too high, RHR was significantly up (only thing I tried, relatively new to actually taking something). Take 30mg personally and find it works great. Having to take meds gives me a bit of anxiety generally but I’ve been comfortable with it bc there isn’t a noticeable spike on/off.

Hopefully that’s helpful :)

I find that vyvanse wears off too quickly (usually around lunch time for me) and afternoons are impossible. Does anyone else experience this ? Anyone have a solution?

Same. Looking to switch

Thanks, everyone. This is so helpful!

I’ve been on Adderall for 10+ years, still works well for me. What are the pros and cons of Vyvanse In comparison?

Hi!
I’m trying to choose between entry-level offers(undergrad AC/JC ) at Bain & Company and
Boston Consulting Group.

Pros of Bain: liked the people, based out of Dubai, liked their externship program + other non-work benefits.
Cons of Bain: not that big in the ME.

Pros of BCG: interesting projects, very big sign-on bonus.
Cons of BCG: based out of Riyadh.

I’m interested in CX, Product Strategy, Digital Transformation.

Does Bain handle projects in those areas?
Is Riyadh that bad?

Thanks!
