Is 85% a good YTD utilization rate?
Does this help utilization or what
What is the target utilization for a Senior 2? Or number of chargeable hours goal? Is this ever hard to meet?
Hours real talk. I've always been very "bill what I work" so that means light weeks I'm destroying my own utilization/billing initiatives instead. Meanwhile peers bill 40-45 regardless. Am I an idiot?
My practice for example - maybe I'm the minority here. But our MDs emphasized over and over again that it is their fault that we have no works to do. It's NEVER our fault if we have low utilization.
People on here are talking about billable hours and utilization... are those things that are tracked on an individual basis? We do it as a firm aggregate and thought that was the norm, but seems to be that it might be tied to specific people at other firms?
Worth pursuing business development as an experienced analyst going into senior? Its something I'm pretty good at but it seems like at my level youre mostly evaluated on utilization...
1st year auditor here in west coast office. I’m book 60 hours this week however I only worked 48 hours. We’re still waiting on supporting docs and my senior tells me to log of early. Will this impact my performance and utilization?
McK 🐟: Which holidays does the firm observe in the US, and what utilization expectations are there for associates?
Can someone help me with this? I had a low utilization since pandemic, I.e., ~sub 5%, but never missed any payments. Would credit score be impacted if only one line of credit with a low utilization? Too few accounts currently paid as agreed FICO® Scores consider the number of accounts that are paid as agreed. Your score was impacted because the number of these accounts is too low, or because you've missed payments recently on some of your accounts.
What are some utilization (billing hours) targets out there for roles with direct reports? If lower than individual contributors, do staffing levels reflect this? I.e. target is 65% billable, but still staffed at 40+ hours
What's the lowest utilization you've seen an associate get promoted to senior? And why do people get promoted despite low utilization?
Utilization rates seem so unreasonable. If the firm wants to keep knowledge in house they should put people on the beach to make internal documents
I am sincerely asking for advice, not criticism. I have been w/ my boyfriend for 2 years, & I love him dearly. I have a history of being in toxic relationships. My friends call me a chaos addict. I grew up in poverty, and I’m the only one in my family who didn’t battle addiction. I was also a victim of sexual, physical, verbal, & emotional abuse from a step parent I love my bf more than anything, & I do not want to break up, but I keep fantasizing about cheating on him (Cont. in comments)
Is applying with 4 YOE and entering with 5 too late? Got into some schools this year (not my dream ones) and currently holding a job offer from an exciting job that I might want to try for a year
If the stock market were to tank, incl. all these ridiculous tech valuations, how do you guys think compensation packages will move in competitive fields such as IBD, consulting, big tech? Based on current environments, I’ve two hypotheses: 1. Comp packages in competitive fields will continue strongly due to: a. less supply of top talent (great resignation), b. less willingness to work demanding jobs (push for wlb), and c. Rising living costs - inflation 2. Comp packages will get readjusted…
I should have posted in this bowl... but Coronavirus is forcing me to freelance for the first time in 2 years. I have 5-6 years UX experience, is 40 hourly a reasonable rate? Should I negotiate...
Any update on the Mid year hike/promotion?
How are those people experienceing hoemelessness being impacted by COVID-19? Has anyone seen any data?
I feel a little lost in my career. I lost my job because of covid in March 2020 because the company wasn’t doing well. I managed to get some clients and worked as a consultant with them. Fast forward in December 2020 I found a new job which was definitely underpaying me but I took it for the benefits. I also kept my consulting work going as a side income. I’ve been doing this for a year. Recently, my workload has increased by a lot and I can’t keep up. I feel extremely overwhelmed (cont)

PSA: Vitalant (Bonfils) is now doing COVID antibody tests on all donated blood and sharing results with donors for free. There’s a critical blood shortage right now; if you suspect you may have had COVID this is a great opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. https://www.vitalant.org/Home.aspx
How often do you talk to your staff and director? Started a new job in industry and we are still WFH. I’m still pretty new and would normally stop by to talk to people. We don’t have regular team meetings. So I guess Skype message is my only option, but check in once a week? This is outside of work emails, just to chat. I don’t want to be annoying and want to get to know my new coworkers. Any advice appreciated for this introvert.
Playing the market for higher TC at other Salesforce consulting firms like Deloitte, Accenture, PWC, Silverline. I’m very close to my C1 promotion here at cap and think it will be announced in the next few weeks. Should I stay or should I go if I get an offer with $200k+ TC? Currently at $120k
