Can anyone that has taken disability leave because of stress/anxiety/depression share their story? I came back from the doctor and they strongly advised I take one and I’m looking for some hope.

My son often says “this is my worst day ever” and “I should have never been born”….when I ask and make a big deal of it he says he’s “joking”. I’ve told him it’s not funny at all and that we could take medical help if needed (which goes into another argument that I think something is “wrong” with him). Is this normal? Anyone else face this issue?

TW: abuse I have PTSD from being in an abusive relationship in my teens. It’s affected almost every aspect of my life, including my career, and I’m sick of it. I often feel alone at work, I have frequent panic attacks when someone raises their voice on a call because of what happened to me, and I have very low self esteem when his words echo in my head. It’s been almost 8 years since I left, I’ve tried multiple therapists, medication, etc. I’m sick of this limiting my success. Any tips?

I have always said I want to be a sahm. We can afford it. Almost 2 years ago I changed jobs and since the 2 people more senior than me have quit. So I’ve basically been working 2 jobs the last year and we finally have new leadership starting. I feel like the right thing to do is to go part time and see if I like it and help with the transition but also I’m just sick of this place. At my firm, we have these compliance assignments and training we must complete by the following month. During this time I got pretty sick and took a few personal days to rest. When I asked my manager to approve overtime so I can make up everything, they refused. However, they’re on my ass about completing them and performing my job duties at the same time. Disability question- so I was all Moto and avoided going to medical for my knees in back in the hopes of getting an airborne school slot which never came. Thus have no supporting documents on my knee or back issues other than civilian visits. Been out officially from the IRR since 2018. Is it possible to still get disability rating or am I SOL without formal documentation from Army docs?
