Got it, thanks! Would be curious to know if the same rings true for the Midwest offices.

Nothing first hand. Considered working there and spoke to an associate in Chicago doing IP who liked it a lot.

Thanks, that’s helpful!

Have dealt with a number of partners, including some whom the firm pitches as the firm’s elite. Quality is very uneven. Some really good. Others really not good. Associates we dealt with were meh.

I was dealing with people in San Francisco, Detroit, and Tampa. Can’t speak to other offices.

I started in January and I already feel that this job is having a strain on my relationship. I’m still working weekends after busy season and my s/o is upset I barely spend time with them. The rest of my team is constantly working so I feel bad if I set my boundaries and take time off.

I joined Deloitte in 19’ and don’t buy into the circlejerk that seems to go on both for / against the company - I like being a part of the firm but am underwhelmed with where the recent compensation cycle resulted. I have an opportunity with a small business to get a roughly $45k salary increase, but would have 2 sacrifice the security of Deloitte, wfh and paternity leave, which will come into play this fall as we have a baby due in November. Anyone make a similar switch before or havethoughts?

Boston Consulting Group I’m an experienced consultant (8 years consulting). I’m interviewing for a people and org role at BCG. I haven’t cased since undergrad. I know cases are a huge part of BCG’s interviews, but for experienced hires, can anyone share how important they are and any advice on what to focus on? Thanks.

Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.

Now that the CDC says no masks needed indoors if vaccinated, is anybody concerned what that means for kids under 12? I’m assuming that the honor system isn’t entirely going to work (I.e., some unvaccinated people will go maskless). I don’t want my 5 and 7 year olds around unvaccinated unmasked strangers, but it’s also a bummer to stop taking them places. Not that I was taking them that many places, but the occasional grocery store, shoe store, etc. seems riskier now.

If anyone is looking for a job working in RSM's tax financial services group that has experience in either Private Equity, Hedge Funds, or Venture Capital space send me a message. Please have a resume for me to review and then I can get you setup for an interview. I am based on Los Angeles, but I am not concerned about location, as we need people in this space all throughout the firm. I spent 13 years with the big four before making the move and it was the best decision I have made.

If you are hired for a project at a big company but it’s not long-term, how would you position/announce it on your LinkedIn? Announce you’re freelancing/self-employed or as a consultant for the big company?
