All things are possible...but not advisable. It would generate a lot of unwanted discussions at the MD, Sr. Mgr., and HR level. Lots of questions why you were rolling off. I think that inevitably the question of if this project is being mismanaged would come up, then the project leadership would say, no, you were underperforming and couldn’t hack it. You wouldn’t be there to defend yourself. Your CC wouldn’t hear about this until it was too late, etc. etc Not a good / wanted answer, but I think this would happen
Yes. Talk to everyone. Prove you are more valuable to the new project than the old Make it happen.
What I did after a year on a project with a super micromanager, I reached out in my network and found a project in a completely different state and region. I talked to the person who I was going to replace and they told me that they were getting off the project as soon as possible and I was the perfect person as their replacement. They talked to their manager and then they pretended to find my name in the system and called my manager and said that they needed my skills. It was all planned to get me away from that manager and help that person who was leaving. It might take a while but search your network.
You can, but need to think about the move strategically. Can you find another project quickly? Will you burn bridges that will come back to bite you, etc.? Definitely weigh the pros and cons. It’s also only three more months, however, I understand you being that miserable that you feel the need to get out now. And I’m all for personal happiness and not being miserable on a project. Good luck OP! If your utilization can take it, a few days between gigs may be good for you!
