Serious question - why don’t B schools treat everyone the same? Why is it harder for males? Why is it harder for Asians/Indians?

I think each application should be viewed on its merits and gender and race shouldn’t be a factor at all. Thoughts?

Would this bother you? My bf has made jokes a few times now about me being a “boss baby” or “baby boss”. In actuality, I am a leadership team exec who’s moved up really quickly in my org and manages a team (in industry) by my early 30s. For context, I’m the high-powered career person in our relationship. (He’s hard working but a satisficer vs a maximizer). Currently a first year big 4 audit associate who completed my first busy season a few months ago. Since starting I have had a pretty rough go of it and don’t think I am cut out for audit work or the life style. I thoroughly enjoy financial accounting and found it interesting in school, but loathe audit workpapers, anything related to controls, and the fact that it feels like a constant check the box exercise. I also can’t stand sitting in a conference room and CONT.

It’s kind of a drag to see how when your comp climbs - life doesn’t change all that much. You pay off old loans, now save an appropriate amount for retirement, maybe fix up old stuff that you had deferred until now. Older friends mean more wedding / kid birthday costs. You can’t eat the $5 drunk food meals anymore. Then what’s “left over” after all of that really isn’t too earth shattering.

How long does it usually take to get an offer letter? I had interviews at a big 4 firm over a month ago and got an offer over the phone a few weeks ago but still no offer letter. Is this normal?

What type of breed of people generally stay in PA for the long run? People have told me the brightest ones and the worst ones leave and mostly average ones remain, but thoughts?
