I have masters and 6 years of experience. I recently learned that a new grad who doesnt have his state boards yet has 39 per hour. A coworker experience of 20 years gets 50per hour. I accepted a new job with a local district through my state DPH. I was excited and a little nervous at first. It's my first full-time position in several years and I will have state benefits along with "regular" hours. No more shift work. Unfortunately I am hearing some not so good opinions about management. I'm trying not to listen and make my own decisions based off experience-not word of mouth, but I'm beginning to worry. Anyone have any experience with something similar or working DPH?

What do you all do when you've just had it with your career? I'm BEYOND burnt out, never see my family, haven't had time to pursue any personal interests outside of work, feel like crap. I'm ready to throw in the towel.

About to post a job w/ HC software co (~550 employees). Need someone who can manage relationships w/ cons/analyst firms that advise health plans on pop health software / serve as SI's, & relationships with Big Tech (MSFT, Oracle, etc). Thinking this could be a good lower stress role for Big 5 manager who wants to get off the rat race. Very close to receiving a job offer for a fast growin start-up company related to dental. It is located in SF which unfortunately is not Americas most expensive city to live in (I’d have to move there). Started pricing apartments and will need an offer of about $135k to qualify for housing but anything I find for a salary reference says the company plays about 95k in SF - how do I justify my experience and drive to the company to show my value or is that too big of a wage gap to bridge? The thing is they claim i only have experience of 7 years and offering me less than what I make now.
