Can I get attorney’s fees if I’m representing myself?
What if I represent myself AND my spouse (both as plaintiffs)?

Check your local listings on this. In my jurisdiction, it’s a hard no. Fees cannot be awarded* in cases of self representation, because you did not pay yourself (and I’m guessing your wife didn’t pay your firm). There has to be an actual financial obligation due to a lawyer to sustain an award of fees.

*pro Bono counsel at legal aid can keep their time as if they were getting paid, and an award of fees can be granted to the legal aid center as part of the funding to keep legal aid available for future clients

In Florida they can be awarded to a pro se attorney.

No. Pro Per parties are not entitled to attorneys’ fees.

I have legal and Compliance experience, however this is in sales rather than healthcare. I'm a Nurse.

I'm a young POC female in a male dominated field. I have never negotiated a salary before and accepted on the first offer. Upon further field investigation, I feel like they low-balled me by a lot- at least 15-20k lower than average. Is it risky to ask to renegotiate? Or would it be in bad taste to decline to sign the documents? TYIA

Headhunters/Recruiters…
I was contacted out of the blue by a headhunter last week promising to do their best to place me in an AMLAW200 firm as a lateral. (4 years practicing, all litigation; looking to move to transactional).
I’ve never dealt with a headhunter before, and I’m taking everything they say with a grain of salt, so insight as to their effectiveness, reliability, and overall successful placements in or equivalent to the type of firms they have connections with is greatly appreciated.

However, more and more often I’ve been given very short deadlines to turn over the research, as short as 3-4 hours for a complicated question. Is this common

International arb associates: in general, when does your team have the (almost) final draft ready for the client's review?

On a related question, how far in advance do you start preparing for the hearing (opening, cross, etc)?

I ask because our team is never able to produce a final draft until hours past the deadline (yes, we never meet the deadline set by the tribunal). And our partners don't tell us who should prepare for what until like a week or a few days before the hearing.
