Can I get feedback on QA, do other product teams run their test scripts (non automated test scripts) past the business every single time they develop something? I am in a role where this seems to have become the norm and my perspective is that this is picking up the bulk of the work from the business that they should be doing UAT, if we fulfill the requirement we have completed our job?

I have done this before. And this review did not replace UAT for my team.

If a change has a high level of risk, then the test reviews were more likely to happen.

I know product sense is needed as PM (i have recruited many PMs in my life) but it felt quite underwhelming to go through an hour of this … the PM was very nice, but couldn’t answer any complicated question either … is this still the norm for senior processes, is it FAANG legacy or just bad luck?

Folks , I’m considering kicking off the job application process again. I feel like I can’t reach my potential as a PM at a consulting firm. For one, we have no access to user data, usually our users are clients, and we rarely get to interface with them. As a result, I don’t have any experience in A/B testing, or proper user experience research. Is this an extremely important skill? Should I look to jump sooner than later ? There are other skills I get to aggressively build here, however

I'm looking for ideas on measuring personal productivity as a product manager. What I'm looking for are quantities or quasi-quantities for how I work that will be leading indicators of the outcomes I create. Not looking for product, business, or dev metrics. I have those. Likewise, not work outcomes.

E.g.: hours of uninterrupted focus work, total and daily average. Number of client listening/reqs-gathering meetings, weekly or monthly.

I'd like to relate these to outcomes over time.

Ideas?
