Any automotive parts managers in here?
After weeks of no contact Goldman Sachs have finally come back to me with an offer of £75k for an associate role within Global markets ops (collateral management) in London. I initially gave them salary expectation of £80-85k and have 2 competing offers around £80k range. I’ve tried to negotiate and tried to ask for higher but they won’t budge or match my other offers. They’re saying the pay is in line with the peer group and my experience (7.5 years). Am I being lowballed? Goldman Sachs
How much is retail supervisor pay this days?
If I was your employer and you came to me after only one month asking for a raise citing your “bills and cost of living” I would, a) be thoroughly annoyed and start to question my decision to hire you and, b) likely brush you off with some statement that we will reevaluate compensation at a later time based on your performance.
Better to ask here than your employer. We always learn these lessons the hard way. Count your blessings and work towards your next goal.

How much were you hoping they’d come up? In the scheme of things, $3K isnt going to make a big difference...that’s an extra $250/month. And that’s before they take taxes out. Anything below $10K isn’t really going to make that much of a difference. If the pay isn’t working, maybe you should look for a different industry.
Lmao that was on you for accepting that offer to begin with. Do you due diligence when it comes to job offers and make sure you’re happy when you accept.
You will have to wait longer to receive your salary. You take less time looking for a better-paying job, sadly.

Can we sticky this, I swear this get's asked multiple times a week across the bowls I'm on.

It’s considered a red flag to the hiring manager. I’d look for someone else on the DL if they asked shortly after hiring.
$3k equates to $250/month. After taxes what bills is that paying? All that to say, no. Do not gripe to your employer a month into your job. It’s not a life changing amount of money. Consider this a lesson to always put yourself at the top of the range when job hunting. In the meantime, find aspects of your job that you enjoy that intangible account for the $3k you feel you’re missing out on: work culture, learning and growth opportunities, independence/autonomy, etc.
3k per month I'm sure. Not many would care about 3k a year

No. You have no performance metrics to justify your request. This is why you should always negotiate an offer…because performance doesn’t get factored in during negotiations. You now have to prove yourself before getting any merit increases. Find other opportunities elsewhere.
In theory you can, but behind the scenes you will be red marked by your job. Leadership subconsciously will make note of this and will come up in topics behind the scenes for awhile.
I’d suggest you evaluate risk vs reward. If you just want 3% more money it’s probably not worth the fight. If you want 10-15% more best to find a new opportunity while your working.
