This mindset is exactly why those are the only jobs you're getting
To be clear, I would never actually try to sue my University. This post was mostly a jest resulting from job hunt frustration. But, I do feel like I was lied to a lot during my time at University by orientation leaders, guidance counselors, and professors.
No unfortunately this doesn’t make for a strong case against a university. I would reach out to their career office and let them know you’re really underwhelmed with your offers. Maybe they could connect you with a mentor or a professor who has a good network.
Embrace your alma mater and tap into their resources!

Ok. Hard to help you then. Good luck!

Maybe you stop feeling entitled, realize you have to work hard, and go out and earn it.

You started this post by asking if you can "sue your university" which is why a reader can conclude you feel entitled.
I would take the feedback as a learning opportunity.
Must be a Trump uni grad

Ha! Yes that would the only time I’d advocate suing your University for false advertising. But other than that, it’s on you to make your career OP.
Earn it...don’t fall into the sue happy society

OP: Reading your posts, I can see why your job prospects suck. You really need an attitude adjustment.

SM1, thanks for understanding and the empathy. Yeah, I honestly wish I had never posted this cause reading all these hateful comments has really got me down even more now on top of not being able to get a job

What did you do during college? I played a varsity sport, interned every summer (including two that just gave stipends so I was broke), and worked 15-20 hours/week for 3 years. And then I went to grad school. I got my $ worth. I’m sure some of it was stars aligning of course but it wasn’t just college name that got me into a top firm.
Look at the countless international students coming out of no name schools and ending up in consulting/ tech/ banking. For majority of those kids they had to learn English, had no network and adapt to a new environment!

BUT, did they sue their schools as part of the process? That could be their secret!

As a fellow FSU grad (class of 2016), I find this post kinda annoying. Will ignore the poor grammar for a second... yes, “college” leads to more opportunities, but FSU doesn’t owe you anything. I’m confused why you’re blaming your situation, whatever it may be, on where you got your degree from. Maybe take some responsibility and realize everyone’s paths are different and everyone has to put the work in just the same. There’s always someone right behind you willing to outwork you. And also.. just because you have a degree doesn’t automatically mean you get to make $100k.
Finance in NYC (or any industry in NYC really) is tough to get into and there’s no denying that but maybe take this time to reflect and figure out how you can improve and steps you can take to put yourself in whatever position you’d like to be in using the experience you do have.
Wish you the best!

Sounds to me those are 3 years of solid experience. My advise is to craft that message on your resume and not worry about the degree itself. Your school is a minor part of the whole picture.
Needs more information or else everyone is just going to think you’re self-entitled.

Hey OP, I went to an even worse state school and made 35k annually 8 years ago. Then entered and eventually dropped out of grad school and ended up working in a cafe for minimum wage. 7 years later, after getting an MBA, am now making plenty.
Point is, keep your head up, continue to advance, and don’t sue your university. Just don’t donate to them
Which university?
Maybe you got cursed by the Seminole people
What? Lolz. No way.

Maybe work on your interview skills?

Probably your degree then. It is a big part of the selection process.
I went to a cheap state school; got a full ride and my foot into consulting. What more do I ask?
I feel like someone tried it before. But no. Just stop. Goodness gracious.

I started at $60k after graduation in 2012. Made it to $90k by 2014 but was laid off due to market issues in spring 2015. Fell back to $70k until a raise to $85k in 2016. Took a raise to $110k in 2018. I expect this covid crap to deflate wages for anyone that is laid off.
