Can I switch employers if I just applied for extension of my h1b with my current employer? Would I have to cancel the extension request first?

I got my green card last year - could I spend some time abroad (2-3 months) without the risk of it being seen as abandonment? In those 2-3 months could I work abroad?

Has anyone done this for a similar timeframe or longer on a green card and still been ok coming back and applying for citizenship when the time comes?

How many of you in this country in employment based green card backlog ? How many of you know about s386 and how many of you are doing anything about it ? Just cribbing won’t get anyone anywhere- let’s see how many act and how many are just agnostic ?

I recently received an offer from a competitor with a promotion to my existing role and close to 50% hike. PwC is about to file my I140 in premium now and now I am caught up in 2 minds. Would I wait for another 180 days to make sure that my I140 technically cannot be revoked or do i risk joining the new firm ? The new firm would start my GC process after 6 months of joining and my H1 max out period is in July 2024.
