Absolutely do not do that. Where’s your senior?

How is this different than per inquiry with client? Recording doesn’t increase validity

I'd be very surprised if your firm didn't have a policy that you are not allowed to record meetings or participate in recorded meetings

like

In the future, after the meeting, you can send an email summary of the topics discussed. Then later you have written evidence /support doc.

This is a really good practice to do. Helps keep everyone on the same page especially for action items/next steps after meetings. I make sure to keep these meeting notes and send them out after meetings. And it’s great when you need to go though an escalation policy when someone doesn’t follow through with their action items repeatedly….

like

Did you ask permission to record? I have used it as my evidence before.

Check firms policy and client policy.

😬 😬 😬

EY now has no record policy back then with permission from client I was able to record

I would say don’t do that Just say “per a meeting with the client on this day….”

It would be annoying to review, so I would not

There are policies around whether you’re able to do a recording, and what you can maintain on your file.

If you want to document client's explanation you can just document the date and the client personnel you discussed with, that will be sufficient for documentation. Like we do verbal inquiries with clients all the time and it's not like we need to record their response every time. So setting aside the inappropriateness for using recording As evidence, this is simply just not necessary/not value adding.
