What happens if I change my 401k contribution to 100% for one paycheck before the bonus payout? Can I do that? And, if yes how do the health insurance gets paid?
So incredibly frustrated with my company’s maternity policy. 0 parental leave and 6 weeks at 60%. I was told when I joined parental leave was changing for the better to be tech driven, and now pregnant I’m told that leadership changed their mind. Has anyone started at a new company while pregnant and was allowed leave? 6 weeks is absolutely discouraging for maternity leave—a woman hasn’t even fully recovered
Just to put things into perspective, my friend works at a big tech company making $300k+ plus bonus. Rarely works more than 40 hours a week and has 100% 401k matching plus stock options. I feel like I mega f’d up going the lawyer route.
My husbands company has his 401k through Empower? Never heard of it though I believe it’s pretty big, and acquired personal capital. He and I are going to go through it together tomorrow but anyone know anything about them? anything I should look out for? TIA.
Came back from maternity leave a few months ago. How did you feel when returning? Did your network reach out to pull you in on projects or did you feel a shift in how they perceive and interact with you?
I’m currently undergoing IVF at BCG, where I am able to use the infertility benefits because I have a genetic condition I do not want to pass on (not for a diagnosis of infertility). I’m moving to Deloitte soon, and would love to know if the infertility benefits will be accessible to me there - has anyone used those benefits with a similar situation (not for actual infertility)? Hoping to get similar coverage, but ready to continue COBRA for a few months/pay out of pocket if needed.
Is an employer's 401k 25% match (up to a tiny % of salary) worth my time? I already have two 401k from prior jobs and a Roth IRA, and don't really want to enroll in another 401k.
Good morning, I am wanting to transition from Healthcare into HealthTech. I have been in Healthcare for 22 years and I have front and back end experience as well as laboratory experience. I do not know any roles to look into that will be suit me and how to structure my resume . Does anyone have any recommendations?
Last night I saw a post on LinkedIn complaining about how unemployed people in the US are “earning” too much in benefits. Social networking sucks.
How much is your 401k returns (%, # of years)?
I'm leaving PwC in a month. Won't be eligible for 401k for a year at new firm. What do I do with my 401k?
Anybody from GE Healthcare digital experience team? How is the job security and work life balance?pls share or dm me
Hey everyone I’m new to the site. I have over 20 years of experience selling health insurance. I handle most varieties of plans and companies. Some are government sponsored some work based and some swim in the open ocean. Why are so many people uninformed, uninsured and lost in the wilderness when it comes to these financial offerings?
I am looking at a fat tax bill outstanding since my existing withholding wont be enough this time. Any last minute ideas for tax saving? I have maxed out 401K for the year. Also, I have been self-filing using TurboTax for the past 5 years and wondering if hiring a pro for preparing the return might help with identifying some creative ideas
Are there any US immigrants in this bowl? How did you learn and navigate the system here? 401k, Roth IRA, HSA all these things are new to me. In Australia our employer pays our retirement fund. Would love to have some resources to understand the basics of where I should start and how all these funds work.

what are yours side gigs?
Looks like a massive Exodus happened in Deloitte? Trying to staff a project and there is literally no one to staff with (at least Salesforce practice) and we are having to reach out to contractors. Is this a result of layoffs that happened last year and folks are purely unhappy with pay (not considering project pressure as that can vary/be subjective)? For folks who have been here for a long time, is this a common occurrence or is it especially bad this time around?
Project is asking me to travel the week my wife is due to have a baby or else get an exemption from HR. Is this normal or is my firm just not supportive? KPMG if anyone is looking to join.
I know this is an incredibly privileged question to ask so spare me the criticism. But I am graduating with no student loans and starting a job in Philly making 95k. I want to lease an Audi A4 (~350/Mo) but my parents keep trying to talk me out of it saying it’s a terrible investment and that I don’t even need a car. I already plan on maxing out 401k/IRA and have an apartment for 1k/Mo. What do you guys think?
Which city of the 3 would you rather live in, if given an option and why? A. New York B. Los Angeles C. San Diego
Soooo at today's morning status meeting our shitty SM was absolutely railing a consultant. Consultant stands up and says, "Fuck you. You're an asshole. I'm done here." And walks out. 😳...👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
best intern screw up stories? one time at a project, an intern stopped a meeting and lectured a client for "littering" in the conference room for 10 mins
Never got why people care so much about becoming “MBB”They do the exact same shit as every other consulting firm. Seeing “MBB” is more cringeworthy than the fabricated LinkedIn stories. Apologies
Not sure how consulting firms expect to retain talent out of undergrad if they barely raise pay. Left consulting after 1 year, end of 2nd year and I’m at 180k comp now with friends at D and PWC barely hitting 85. I know seniors at D not even making 100k
