I think it’s less about age than context. If you’re working on a cost cutting project where there will be layoffs then don’t show up at the client site in a Ferrari with a Rolex. That goes for 40 year olds as much as 25 year olds.
Sure. There are fewer and fewer people who will notice, but if you know, you know.
I mean the reality is that 99% of people won’t notice or know how much it costs. If you like it and think it looks good, wear it. It’s not that deep - remember, no one is thinking about you (or what you wear) as much as you do.
25 year old with an AP Royal Oak, I think this all the time. Personally I’ve never worn it to the office. Just seems like it isn’t the place but go with what you like
Daddy?
Yes, I wore one when I was an intern
Not sure why this question comes up so often, you worked hard so enjoy yourself!
Did you get it at msrp or buy it after market?
Sheesh good on you. I assume you went gray?
I wouldn’t unless other ppl (especially seniors/partners do). You don’t want to wear a Daytona if the partners are all in apple watches.
I wore a sub as a 22 year old… you’re fine. Those that know, know, 90% it’s lost on. Also I wore an 80s presidential as an analyst as well for 4-5 years. Before trading it out, but do what you want. Don’t let society dictate what you should nor shouldn’t do.
Congrats on the Daytona, they are beautiful. I have a sub date that my grandpa passed on to me and have had it since I was 20. I would say wear it as much as you can and enjoy it! Just be careful traveling with it.
