I believe there is a good amount of incubation period. Let's wait a few weeks and see if there is a tick up in hospitalization.
Glad those who are calling to open the economy are willing to put money where their mouth is at and be the first ones to reopen. I'm just gonna sit tight and see if they drop dead. If not, awesome, if yes, maybe another year of eating Uber Eats
This. Deaths are a lagging indicator. We'll know how this actually went a few weeks from now.

Totally agreed. The whole thing is just bill gates and new word order trying to give everyone the mark of the beast - vaccine. Check out plandemic and the book of revelation. Enough is enough. We demand freedom and our constitutional rights back!

SM1 - Maybe? Hopefully? Except that many people actually do believe what’s said on Breitbart and the Plandemic video. Is D2 joking too?

Ok.
Colorado just had to revise their numbers down by over 20% because the CDC guidance they were following caused them to count things like alcohol poisoning as COVID deaths.

Just because these states are “open” doesn’t mean that lots of people aren’t voluntarily staying at home whenever possible.

I lost a family member to covid. Tell me again how it’s fake news.
That’s tough, but it’s not clear how your personal experience is relevant to media credibility...

I’m in Florida and I went out last night and have been shopping. Only about 30% of people are wearing masks. I don’t see anybody dying. This whole pandemic has been a lie by the media
Have you looked this virus up once???? You don’t get symptoms in one day. Let’s talk in a few weeks
Post this on your Facebook alongside your name for conversation, not here.

OP - I agree that the binary choice of opening vs being safe is total BS. The really simple alternative is everybody wears a mask, we roll out mass periodic testing, and we institute mandatory digital contact tracing so that we can very selectively trigger isolation measures when there is a positive test. Unfortunately, no one wants that infringement on their rights, and neither political party is willing to take up that banner. If Trump, Pelosi, and a bunch of the governors held hands and said this is what we are doing… People would friggin do it and we could go about somewhat normal lives, with small pockets of folks asked to isolate for brief periods when a case popped up to prevent an outbreak.
The US population is pretty resilient, and has historically accepted far more stringent impositions to battle common enemies.
Lmao at a country that can’t agree that assault rifles don’t belong is schools is going to agree to contract tracing and digital passports.

An uptick about two weeks after opening. Who could have guessed?

Both are useful. But only one is useful in this case

I can’t believe that with all these deaths people still think this is a hoax?!?! Just because it didn’t hit you or someone you know doesn’t mean it’s not the fact. Every other country has second wave how can you be so sure that US doesn’t have one? Oh wait a minute, cause we haven’t been through the first one yet!!
SAD1 - Unfortunately, that is not the media experience for the vast majority of people. Agree if that were what we were hearing, it wouldn’t be overblown. Instead we’re getting sensationalized headlines about cases going up, blood on the hands of Trump/Florida governor/Georgia governor, young people with no underlying conditions dying, doubt about the effectiveness of antibodies against all scientific evidence, and the like.
OP, can’t say the same thing about Texas and Florida now, can you.....
Exactly KPMG2 😂

Agree. People who disagree with reopening seem to be actively rooting for complete mayhem in GA, FL, and TX. Even day it doesn't happen, they come up with the following theories: people are staying home in spite of their "stupid" governors (they aren't), sick people are being prevented from being tested to suppress the numbers (they aren't), or the king of the conspiracy theories, these states are just making up low numbers.

Populations are comparable. Slightly higher in MD+CT, along with more cases. In any case, I’m not claiming the testing is too low. I’m saying the uptick is worrying. Everything happens on a delay. The 10-14 days also delays the effects of being closed. So you can’t necessarily compare to the days before reopening. And the 10-14 days isn’t precise either since it’s not like life went back to normal that day. Mobility started going up. Let’s see if this is an anomaly or something worse. But I don’t think it’s a clear cut story of “we can reopen with no problems” yet

Agreed, the hoax keeps getting worse.
