Confirmed. 3 Mat leaves and never prorated.
I think official policy is that it’s not, but in reality it ends up being lower and they use reasons like lower managed revenue, less professional development etc. I’m honestly too tired to fight this battle
I had been told bonus was prorated, not the raise
A1, what? Did you take a separate LOA on top of the 16 weeks? Mine was not prorated.
Raises should not be prorated, but why shouldn't a bonus be prorated?? Bonuses are to reward the work done in a year, and if you aren't contributing work for a portion of that year, why would you get a bonus for it? We're not talking a coupe of weeks PTO right? 4 months out of a 12 month year that you provided no contributions to work, so you're looking to be paid a bonus solely on the work of others?
I don’t understand how I was told multiple times by the leaves team it would not be prorated. Then I find out that people at my level (same legacy group before reorg) got lower ratings and higher % raises. I understand if it is because of maternity leave but do not understand why they couldn’t be honest to begin with.
OP I would request a comp call to discuss it.
FYI I just found out that evidently prorating bonuses is function driven (legacy S&O, HC,tech )
At PwC, I believe bonus COULD be prorated depending on how much of the performance year you’re out. So you’re better off if your mat leave spans two perf years vs all in one year. I THINK that’s the case but need to double check
Mine was prorated both times I was on Mat leave. Annoying as sh#t. But I didn’t argue... cause the difference was insulting.
My first prorated, my second wasn’t
It’s prorated here too
What’s the time period for the proration?? I was told it would not be prorated but am clearly seeing that it was...
Seems like some were prorated and others not. Are we getting penalized for taking mat leave? I took leave last year and was wondering why my comp didn’t move much when I was told after consensus that I was in line with my peers...results don’t seem that way.
A3- bonuses are performance- based, not attendance based. If you hit / exceed goals & expectations, there should be no reason why you don’t deserve full bonus. FWIW, I was not prorated for either of my maternity leaves.
It’s prorated!!! No one tells you. Your merit increase is not but bonus is
Its definitely not prorated. I got a 2 last year and a 2 this year. I was on mat leave for 6 months of this performance year but got a slightly higher bonus ($43k) and slightly higher merit increase than the previous year.
SM1 I was explicitly told by sr partner that it was. I got a 1 and the highest eligible bonus for my level and $ amount was less. Maybe it’s new but this was last year
I’m not sure what part of the business you’re in but in HC it’s definitely not. I’ve had three leaves and always received the full amount.
