Yes, and they all laugh at you about your weird porn searches at the central IT help desk too.
But no, they can’t see that.
Do they actively? No. Can they? Absolutely.
Years ago I worked for GT and had my work email on my personal phone. This was before lots of us used screen passwords (some phones didn’t even have the functionality yet though mine did - Palm Pixie). I did not have one on my phone yet. One day I woke up and my phone had a screen password on it. Of course I went “wtf kind of sorcery is this?!” I had never created a screen password. On a whim, I tried my work email/laptop password - it worked. The fact that work could push that onto my phone was invasive. I immediately uninstalled anything related to work. I was not having any of that monitoring of my personal life.
Let’s distinguish the difference between work email monitored on a phone and all activity.
When you connect your phone to work email you are connecting to an exchange server and accepting certain policy requirements. Those policy requirements are managed by your employer and they can change things like the screen password you mentioned. They also can read your work emails. If you are a blackberry user then they could read everything since all traffic went through a BES server.
However, personal web traffic does not go through an exchange server. It goes through the ISP provider. The traffic can be retrieved but it requires a supena/warrant.
So the OP question was can they see everything? No. Can they see work stuff without asking you/a judge? Absolutely
They CAN see it- but it’s not like they go look at everyone’s stuff all the time just for the hell of it. Just save the porn and any other questionable activities for a personal device.
Yep... figured that out when talking to pwc help one day. They can see everything on your work phone.
They don’t actively look but they can pull it if they need to (I.e. harassment case, court case etc), it would be similar to your work laptop.
