People - really struggling with this - was supposed to move to bay area for husband’s tech job. I can work remotely. But with COVID I’m not sure if we should make the move. We feel the world will move to a remote/ WFH mode. We want to buy a house and settle down before our kid arrives. Should we move to a cheaper city like Phoenix so we have a big house for cheap and 2 home offices. Am I missing anything?

This is not due to COVID but we had an argument using common places in Jan 21,until then he was paying his share of rent $1100 which he agreed to pay for the master bedroom which is quite large that he is occupying, after the brawl he is saying he can pay only equal share of the rent $1950/2 =$975, he also wants the extra money back that he claims that he extra paid. My roommate and best friend refuses to get the covid vaccine whenever it’s available because she believes vaccines gave her sister autism. We’re reaching a point of tension where I can’t bring anything up with her that isn’t topical because she’s going through a lot and becomes easily triggered by anything foreign to her. I can’t move out right now. And it also makes me sad that she’s so close minded about the world. Any advice for coexisting/coping? I predict winter will be tough. TIA...♥️

How do I deal with a super intense senior associate that is making life difficult? This associate sees no difference between 11 AM and 11 PM, weekend or weekday. They will text me on my personal cell instead of emailing, insist on long zoom calls during which they insist on turning camera on, won’t review anything I send them unless it’s on a zoom call (yes, that is crazy and not the norm at my firm), and is not a good team player (something good? He did it! bad? You did it)! What do I do?

Someone want to explain how everyone in consulting can be this duped... we accept promotions for more responsibilities without knowledge of compensation... that literally doesn’t happen anywhere else. Am I an attractive candidate at all? Or is it silly to think I could jump soon for a comp increase? 1 yoe BAH fed (7 yoe in nonprofit sector before that), currently at 90k. Have some generalist certifications (agile, prosci, working on instructional design). Non-technical, no master’s. Resume is mostly attractive bc of extensive international/cross-cultural experience & DoS experience. Am I still too “meh” with only 1yoe & no tech skills?

What industry has the most excitable culture? I'm not talking about working until 2AM as a norm for perfect decks. Rather, what industry has the most people who get so amped they'll go overtime all the time just cause, without an expectation that everyone always grinds in the name of a deliverable they know is trivial. My hunch is tech startups, maybe traders, but idk... Asking consulting bowl cause no one else gets as much cross-industry exposure. And hey, maybe consulting still wins out!

Firm is giving an extra bonus this year. After taxes theyll be just about the amount of interest on my law school loans (so much interest it’s disgusting). Do I immediately use all of it to pay off that interest, pay off one of the loans in full and put the rest toward interest, invest some, or other? I have about 190K total (loans are my only debt) and am of the group that’s fine paying off slower overtime for more cash flow now but w/ interest so high I’m thinking paying itwould put me ahead?!
