A previous employer reached out and offered me a Senior Product Designer role with a 40% increase base salary. I am considering this, as I have been feeling under utilized at my current role + dealing with of uncertainty lately. But I would be forfeiting a lot of RSUs if I leave. I am in the middle of my vesting period (2/4 yrs), and this year alone would have 256 shares vesting (~$500 share price). The new role will come with shares, but at a small share price. Anyone had similar experience?

Are companies starting to require hybrid schedules? I'm waiting to hear from a potential remote opportunity that's located in another state and I'm not looking to relocate at all. A friend shared that they were offered a position for a role that was suppose to be remote however when the offer was extended, the company asked informed that the position had changed to hybrid. Ultimately my friend declined.

My assistant of 2 years is making mistakes and I have no hiring/firing power (partner does). But having to babysit her and also the partner and spend time to clean up these mistakes while also getting my job done has become unsustainable. I can’t have a firm talk with her because it’s an empty firmness. If I mention it to the partner - he tells me to have a firm talk with her, he doesn’t want to be the bad guy and he doesn’t get how bad it has been for me.

Left executive role in industry to follow a dream and open a new company. It didn’t go quite as well as planned. Fast forward three years and I joined a large consulting firm as a way back in. It’s painful. I’m in a “leadership” role, but consider myself a worker bee. Even though opening my own thing was the best thing I’ve ever done in terms “knowing what I want”, it’s not valued in industry. The Q is will consulting get better or should I take a lower level industry job (VP) and call it a day?

As I'm moving to a new role in a small company, I have a doubt about my salary structure like the Basic salary part is only 20,000 while my take home is 62k after all deductions.

I'm concerned because the leave encashment & other things totally depends on the basic salary.

Are there not any rules for the Basic salary to be at a certain % of CTC or it depends totally on the company?

Also PF deductions they are offering only 1800 p.m but considering 20000 basic it should be 12% of 20000 right?

I have 2 engagements that have their weekly client calls at the same time every week. I mentioned to the smaller engagement, if they can move the call to another day or time. They were like no. I got a reply like we will let you know if anything affects your funds. Today going over some random things, I asked about stuff and they were like oh yea it was mentioned on the weekly call. I feel like I'm at my wits end. I teach self-contained classes and according to the ISBE website my classes shouldn't be more than 8 students unless I have an aide - then it can be 10. I have no aide and most of my classes are around 14 kids. Some with behavior plans that are only out of our behavior room setting for my class... Is anybody else out there going through illegal class sizes for self-contained? How are you dealing? Maybe a vent session is in order.

This may seem like a silly question, but what's the difference between an outside and an inside sales rep?

Also, how do I avoid jobs where I'm required to push customers into things they don't want? I'm able to do my best work when I can just hang out with people and they feel like they can genuinely trust me. It's also extremely important that I truly get behind what I'm selling.
