Desperate for ideas on how to deal with insane discovery requests in Florida given the lack of special sets and the time it takes a court to hear a motion for protective order. It's becoming a pattern that we do our objections or a motion for protective order, but OC's immediately move to compel and for sanctions at the discovery deadline. By the time the court decides the issue, it's usually in favor of the party propounding the discovery because they hate overdue discovery and don't even read.

Best SALT Indirect Tax practice in Los Angeles/Irvine/San Diego area?

Early on in the interview process with one of the big 4 firms. Interviewing for manager for one of the national tax group (somewhat specialized I guess). As an M2 my salary expectations are $145-150k (which would be 20% increase) when they asked me for MCOL. They responded too high. Is it really or they are just trying to start lower in case there is a negotiation?
