You still have to pay other payroll taxes, like Social Security and Medicare taxes on 401k Contributions

like

Because your employer is still required to withhold a certain amount on behalf of you for tax purposes.

How much do you increase nanny’s salary when you go from 1 to 2 kids ? During my maternity leave I plan to have her watch only one kid at a time ( either toddler or baby as I want to spend time with toddler as well to prevent anxiety with him) but when I go back to work toddler would go to part time day care and nanny would watch baby all day and toddler for half a day. We currently pay 20$ per hour in MCOL city for one toddler.

Pros:

- fairly decent place to work (from someone who worked with the Vancouver and San Jose offices). never met a blue badger (permanent employee) who had awful things to say.

- Ashley Goodall (their SVP, Methods & Intelligence) co-authored a brilliant book on leadership and people management called “Nine Lies About Work” that makes me believe they can be an awesome place to work

Cons:

- red badgers had low morale since they’re contract workers and can be terminated at any time
