I don’t get it either. Is he affordable or something? He’s everywhere and shilling everything. He’s like the new Shaq, but a fraction of the height, charm and humor.

Wow. LOL. Ok. Sensitive much? I’m just wondering how he gets *all* this spokesperson work. I don’t fault him for taking it. It’s good work if you can get it!
He is in the ad sweet spot right now—he had a big movie career three or four years ago, seems SLIGHTLY edgy (but not too much!) to 28-35 yr olds with money to spend, is perceived to bring “star power” while (most importantly) WANTING TO WORK, ie, makes his price right.
Also...and I want to tread lightly here...there is a certain element....for giant conservative corporations....that has to do with.... crossing over....demographically....wherein he is perceived to be very “authentic”....but also not too “off putting”....if I may knowingly throw some finger quotes and euphemisms around WITHOUT endorsing such beliefs and behavior from giant conservative corporations .... and he’s more famous than John Legend, or Common... if you see what Im saying....
Thank you. This was a helpful string in understanding- I still don’t think he’s as relatable or universally anything like his #1 fan @cw3 - nor do I agree with how many brands are operating through equity and diversity issues they got themselves into over the decades, but do agree with the case put forth by @bbdo
In general, don’t really know why he still gets a spotlight. Painfully unfunny

He did apologize, more than once..but continue.

You haven't dropped any facts beyond the dumb stuff he said to his son. I don't even find him funny or follow him but I've seen the convo discussed a few times. The Black community (esp cis men) is very homophobic, should we ban all Black people from ads until they fix this?
Getting canceled isn’t real.
To your point, “more” hasn’t prevented talent from signing brand deals, so why should “less”?
He probably does have a great manager. He can certainly afford it.
He’s right up there with The Rock in terms of marketability, despite your feelings being hurt by statements made in his past.
Comedians are hired because they’re funny, they don’t need to apologize for their comedy.
Sr VP does get that isn’t a core function of a job but if they are putting talent in front of the client it is. CD egos are fragile. They don’t want to be called out.
I think because it’s not a “big deal” anymore. He apologized and (I believe) he backed out of hosting the oscars and wasn’t cnxl and prevented from hosting. And because he’s still popular, he makes sense as an influencer for advertising.
Having worked on a Kevin Hart job, it is usually the clients that ask for him. They want a celebrity and they’ve seen him in a ton of stuff so he is the first person they think of.
Then they find out he’s got good e-scores, is just affordable enough and other CMO’s said he was easy to work with. Next thing you know, he is in your campaign and every other commercial that quarter.
