Hi Everyone. I’m currently a 3rd yr med student planning to break into consulting at MBB after I get my MD. I have the opportunity to attend Kellogg in between my 3rd and 4th year on my dime but would prefer to go straight into consulting and consider the MBA further down the road. Any advice on going to business school now vs later? And is there anybody at MBB willing to give a referral? McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group

You’re looking at 3 years from start to finish from this point onwards. PERM can take 6-12 months, then file I-140, that’s 2-4 weeks with premium processing or 9-15 months if not. Then I-485 is another 9-15 months and can only be filed if your petition date is current. I-140 and I-485 can be filed together but some employers won’t take the risk.

They had you fill out those questionnaires given you were considered for a particular green card batch. It doesn't guarantee that they did that to start your GC after. I'm not sure if this is a hard policy but that's what the GC sharepoint states. I knew someone who got put on hold because of no CPA. Not sure whether that person received questionnares or not but EY decided not to start until that person passed the CPA exam
so collect data —> PERM process [which includes submit PWD (takes 5-6 months), recruitment (takes 3-4 months), submit PERM for process (takes 5-6 months if no audit based on current timeline)] —> submit 140 that’s 2-4 weeks if PP and can take up to one year if not. Then file 485, if you concurrent filing, your case would go to SRC at the moment which can take 2-4 years to get your GC, many people who applied Oct 2020 are still waiting. LIN is also super slow at the moment, MSC is by far the fastest processing center, which people have greened in 2-3 months. The estimated timeline above is in conjunction of law firm prep time too.
What is the risk of concurrent filing of I-140 and I-485?

Not necessarily. Mine went to NSC. Not as fast as NBC, but better than SRC. If you don't file concurrently there's also no guarantee it goes to NBC. It can land in SRC or NSC too.
