Looks like you'd be managing a software team for a product they sell to customers. Seems like a SaaS product that they probably offer as part of their consulting packages. I doubt this is a consulting position based on the job description. I'd imagine at most you may interface with consultants to adapt the platform to client needs.

What BCG said ^ Shouldn't be anything customer-facing about this role.

No, other people find the customers. “Manager” is just a level. It means you won’t start at the very bottom and maybe they will pay you well. This sounds like a regular software development position at a consulting firm.

I had a consulting firm do exactly what C1 described. I would advice against doing tech work in consulting, you're nothing more than client billable hours to them.

I think manager is a solid mid level position there but the compensation is really good overall. Might want to check Glassdoor to see if there s more insight into the role or comp

I love to cook. I am trying to find a happy medium between one off beginner cooking classes and culinary school. The perfect scenario would be a multi week class that goes over advanced cooking techniques. Like stuff you may learn in culinary school but for people who just want to learn as a hobby. Any ideas?

Hi guys,

Recently my company has added a new component in salary which has increased overall CTC of every employee.

We've not received any revised salary breakup only an official email stating everyone's CTC is increased. Started receiving salary based on the updated CTC.

When trying to make a switch, new firm is asking for revised salary breakup but I've shared the email screenshot along with my salary slips showing my increased salary. But HR said she needs updated salary breakup.

I'm a SWE from Italy. Love my country but salary and taxes here are outrageous. Got 2yrs experience in fullstack and data science, 2masters, a peer reviewed paper and outperform all my peers for 24k€ a year.
I'm thinkin about landing a remote SWE job (leetcoding and building a portfolio this summer).
Have you got some advice? Is it possible to work for US remotely without visa? What other countries pay well? Is it possible to land a 100k$+ with this kind of experience and working from Italy?

What do you think about switching tech stacks vs becoming an expert in one stack? I am a backend Java engineer, and have solely used Java since I've started my software engineering career about 2 years ago. Leaving a company as a team JPMorgan Chase

Hello does anyone have experience or know of a case where a team or at least a group of people moved together to another employer.

For context we are a strong developer team that has been saddled with less than ideal migration with a vendor that is really not up to scratch and a big chunk of the team is not ok with that. So I wonder if there is a precedent of people just moving in bulk.

I'm hiring and I've just learned that my HR department is screening candidates by asking them about very specific functions and frameworks.

"Can you describe your experience using Element#remove()?"

"Can you describe your experience migrating from X framework to Y framework?"

We don't use Y framework and have no plans to use Y framework in the foreseeable future. I also don't expect candidates to have all functions memorized. How on Earth did they find out about Y framework!? 🙄🫣

Jr PjM/BA 4 YOE in Tech Implementation Consulting. Beginner skills in Python, JS, HTML, CSS, AWS, SailPoint. Moderate in Azure, Okta. Have PMP, Certified Scrum Master, M.Sc., BBA. Want useful skills, but must focus energy and time. Recent projects and team just not filling my cup. Cloud Architecture, DevOps, InfoSec, IAM all seem interesting and highly rewarding. Taking CompTia N+ soon, and realizing its low demand. What certs & projects should I do to land a technical role within 1 yr?

My company is adopting Scrum and hiring a bunch of agile coaches to assist with sprints. We got assigned our agile coach that'll be starting soon.

I read a description of what this role is supposed to be for and it sounds like they'll be leading Scrum ceremonies. So they run the planning meeting, the retrospective and daily stand ups. Up to now, I've been doing those and it's taken a total of like 2 hours a week of my time.

What on earth do agile coaches do with the other 95% of their time?
