I am approaching my first annual review (Marketing Specialist, first job after college) and I was told that I can expect a pay raise, title increase, etc. Although, I don’t know where I should put my expectations at. Thoughts on what to expect or how to build a case for my raise expectation (maybe $60k?) For context, SaaS company in TX, Salary: $54k and around three years of experience prior to graduation. I am an owner of a small firm in the Midwest (50 employees). I’d like to make sure our comp and PTO are comparable as possible to the big four in the Midwest. How much are 1 to 5 year cpas working during tax season at big four firms? We base our packages on approx 300 over time hours during tax season (usually 55-60 hours per week Jan to April) and then the off season has 3 weeks of vacation, 2 weeks of comp time and Friday afternoons off from may to sept. How do we compare?

Is is possible to ask for a raise just based on what I’ve seen on the market ? This past months many firms have contacted me and total comp is higher in general (for the same industry). Or do I need to have an offer letter in order to ask for the raise ?

Also KPMG UK is the only one of big 4 that has not bought an agency!!). Wanted to hear some advice on the options: go to a boutique (like Lippincott, Prophet) or brand agency?
