Can someone in EY Tax or EY advisory invest in apple stocks if Apple is our audit client ? Can they invest and disclose ?

Ya it fucking blows but at least its simple in this one regard: if EY audits them you can't own em

like

I KNOW EY SECRIT CLIENTS NOW 😈

like

EY7 - Auditor info is public knowledge...it's written in the annual report, in the section where they provide an opinion in the audit outcome. How do you work in business & not know this?

like

Someone told me you cannot buy their shares regardless apple or Google

like

You cannot own stock in Apple if you're employed by EY.

like

Pretty sure it is EY3. In GMS there are yellow caution mark stocks (restricted for covered persons) and red stocks (prohibited for everyone regardless of SL). Source:taken the independence WBL umpteen times.

like

Did you check on the independence system, and are you a covered person?

I did not. And I assume I can't be a covered person if I'm in advisory. I know I should check on independence, was just checking if someone knew their answer up their sleeve.

Pretty sure if you work on the Apple account for more than 10 hours in any audit or internal controls capacity, you're conaodered a covered person. Fair point on asking, though.

EY2, Not true...

EY2 is correct. FB falls in the same bucket & I lost out on a LOT bc I had to sell my 200 $80 shares...now trading at $150+ :(

You can only ETFs that own them 🤷‍♂️

Random comment but... I don't think you should have mentioned our client names on 🐠🎱...🤷🏻‍♀️

Why, its public information?

You are not allowed to own stock of an audit client period.

EY7 - you're an idiot.

Thanks everyone else :)

Wanted to know how different is management consulting in the US via-a-vis India?

Background : working as front end consultant in India. Daily routine is opening laptop at 9AM and doing work till 10ish PM, if the project is tight (which it is in majority cases) closing laptop by 1 or 2 am. Travel depends on project. Sr Managers have no sense of personal space in most companies. Money is goood.

How are things in US as I wish to join consulting in US for a few years for int’l exposure

Hey Googlers, I’m going in for my GCP TAM second round on Monday and had a few QQs for you all:
1. For the RRK2 case study if there is a scenario for handling peak time workloads where the client did a lift & shift of a monolithic architecture, is the best suggestion to move them to micro services to enable serverless and auto scaling features?
2. I was told that they’ll give me 15 mins to prep after the case study is shared live, would you suggest I build a 1 pager or is that not required?Google

Hi guys,

I submitted my resume in Accenture portal 3 months back and now I got shortlisted for interview.

My yoe is 3.6, but the interview is scheduled role "Application lead project". Is this normal?

Are there any chances they might reject me as the interview is for lead role while my YOE fall in senior analyst / analyst role.

Thanks,

I've been noticing a new trend in biglaw passive aggressiveness: Adding a question mark to a non-question when you're following up on something. E.g., "Hi X, just wanted to check in on Y as the client would like to see a draft as soon as possible? When can we expect this?"

And to the people who do this... why?

I have worked with Forbes top companies, for-profits, non-profits, & startups. I consider myself a solver of complex & complicated problems requiring mixed method research & novel solutions. This has led to issues in self-referencing title. I’ve been project manager, data engineer, developer, modeler, analysts, principle DB developer, etc. Most of my w2 work has been from offers of 1099 clients so I am usually asked to define my own title. Any T-shaped data people who run into this?

So I have this really strange satiation. I was asked to review a service agreement, and some attachments, governing website design and hosting client is buying. Literally 25 pages of the most ambiguous, inconsistent, supplier friendly thing I have ever read. Supplier insists using its documents (starting from scratch would have been Faster). The total deal is only $5,000 (which is an insanely good deal) but the time to fix these documents is going to exceed that. How would you deal with this?
