To be fair, that understaffing situation where people just got pulled on everywhere bc we need bodies everywhere is not just kpmg. At least this is what we have at pwc too so not an kpmg specific issue š
Same at Deloitte
I work at Citi in a 1LOD testing team and I feel very supported and respected by management. Very flexible with my schedule and never worked over 40 hours so far in 6 months. You can make solid money outside of the Big4 so I'd say look at internal audit at some F500 companies for a better experience.
I've worked at three different firms now. CLA, Rehman, and Hancock Askew. I would say both Hancock Askew and Clifton, I enjoyed more. The cultures were more care for your employees, though I do know CLA depended very much on which office you were in. But there is always going to be some of working where it's needed. That's just public accounting.
Grant Thornton. Pay us well and awesome culture. Decent work life balance too
Clark nuber has been the best place Iāve ever worked at hands down. Incredible benefits, great people who really care about you, and a space to innovate your own direction. Great work life balance, I only work 40 per week year round usually less, 4 weeks minimum off with pay. Just got a great bonus, will get another one near the holidays.
Get out of the world of audit firms. DM me if you would like. The firm I work for has an awesome Risk Advisory practice and a great leader.
I think the vast majority of the people I've worked with at KPMG have been laid back and friendly, but also hard workers.
that doesnāt resolve my problem lol. But yes do agree which is partly why Iām still here
Iāve enjoyed my experience so far at CLA (2.5 years)
I think so much depends on the team vs. the firm. I have a great team at my firm but other locations probably wouldn't have the same experience, unfortunately.
What service line are you?
Risk advisory
I like where I work a lot actually. Good people, interesting work, not understaffed (depending on your team/function). Growth is slower in industry than in PA but my team still values professional development and makes that a priority.
