Can someone please explain what In Le Fuc is Le Truc? In normal language not trade pub jargon. All I was able to gather from everything I read is that it’s a “collective” and “joint venture” and has an executive team largely made up of current publicis execs (who are... also remaining in their current roles?) and they have an office (which is important to mention for some reason). Honestly what?

I read it as Publicis creating an open source structure for the creative departments of its big network agencies. So sometimes you'll work for your agency and sometimes you'll work for Le Truc. I'm not sure what this says about Groupe's faith in the strategy and creative development at Leo, Saatchi or PWW.

Wonder if this is a PR kind gesture to welcome the new CCO and make the groupe sound more disruptive.

Agree the press release was trash, but I can attest Bastien Baumann is a mega talent and super easy to work with. If you work under him, you’re in good hands.

It’s kinda about paradigms. And synergy. But also being nimble and taking a more scrappy approach to solving business challenges.

Let’s circle back to that later to find transversal synergistics

I used to work on the team that came before “Le Truc.” Basically Publicis leadership doesnt trust ANY of its creative agencies to tackle the big briefs alone. So they pull the best individual teams from every office and do a massive jump-ball brief. ...it never really worked that well lol. Nobody is ever accountable for the work and random CSO’s will just insert creative feedback at the 11th hour.

McCann tried to do this and it fell flat fast. At least they didn’t brand it.

This thread of confusion is all you need to know about Publicis

It’s a front for a trafficking ring that brings young, vulnerable AIs to Marcel for “training”.

Did Marcel just get Le Truc’d?

funny

Does it just mean the end of all the Publicis agencies, massive consolidation, and tons of layoffs since now everyone will just work for Le Truc?

Yes. This.

Marcel got that junk in Le Truc.

Well, looks like there is finally one place to send all those Wack Ass Projects

How is someone going to get drafted or called up for a "Le Truc" project? By recommendation of their CD/ECD? Past performance reviews or award show wins? Seems like a disaster waiting to happen when you have several ongoing projects and then get tapped to be on one of these briefs.

like

That’s exactly it. If you don’t have multiple projects going on, you’ve probably already been laid off. So this becomes an extra thing where you’re on calls at all hours getting feedback from people you’ve never met who will get a bonus if we win Chevy Silverado. But all you’ll get is reprimanded for not getting your billable work done.

Le Truc is... pas grand chose.

like

it took me like three articles, but it seems to be a “world cup team” from the publicis network for big briefs or pitches.

like

My question too.

Publicis didn’t get the memo about too many cooks in the kitchen.

like

Does this mean we will get less briefs from Marcel?
