Only concern should be not getting it. Only other thing is it was developed quickly so while the data right now doesn’t show any unusual side effects that you wouldn’t see in other vaccines, you don’t know of any potential long term side effects given it hasn’t been around long enough tho I don’t believe there will be any. People will definitely profit from it but that’s also the incentive for getting it to market as quickly as they did.

Sounds like the die has been cast. You can’t worry about it now.

Honestly, I just ignore what dumb people think and say anymore. There’s nothing you can do to change their minds and it’s not worth trying.

like

You can’t change their minds. But you can refuse to see them until they get vaxxed.

For starters, maybe stop watching Fox? And then follow sound medical advice and not bother what people are saying.

My bad. Read that wrong. Then just ignore these zombies. I have two cousins who are sisters who became moms recently. One chose to get vaccinated and the other chose not to, for the fear that she might somehow *infect* her child while breastfeeding. Guess which cousin I still talk to?

Ignore them. Spend your time and energy on caring for your wife and your new baby.

Just ignore them when it comes to this, not everything. 🙄😂

Just hope she doesn't have a miscarriage. Get the vaccine if you want it, don't if you don't want it. My body, my choice right? But when they are talking about forcing it on people or you can't do this or that, this is when it becomes a totalitarian regime and Communist state. The way I see it, for the vast majority of the population that isn't susceptible to this virus/disease, why would you inject yourself with something to protect yourself against a disease that you have to get tested to know if you even have it? Elderly and immune disorder folks, sure go ahead. But otherwise healthy people and especially younger folks and kids? There is no reason they should be getting this, the risk is not worth the reward of "protecting" yourself from something that isn't bad if you get it for 90% plus of people.

Wait wait wait, is Fox really saying that the vaccine is just for those things?

Wait, Fox doesn't mention Gates, does it?

They don’t mention Gaetz

Tell them that Fox News has low journalistic integrity and they should be getting their information from better sources to avoid being duped by them

The concerns are the exact same concerns that democrats like Biden and Kamala had about the vaccine before Biden got elected.

This was an interesting sub thread and mostly landed in a reasonable place. One thing I’ll add - people say we’ll reach herd immunity when somewhere around 70-75% of the population has either had the disease or the vaccine. And hopefully enough will choose to take the vaccines that we’ll reach that point by summer. The risk isn’t totally binary, and the national aggregates aren’t all that matter. If we get to 70% nationwide but some communities are still at 50%, it will probably keep circulating (and mutating) in those communities. Similarly even if it’s 75/25 in a given city or county, I bet most concert venues won’t want to take the risk of creating a super-spreader event in case the mix of who shows up that day is more like 40/60. They’d probably rather put on the event but have some way to screen attendees for vaccination status. So I think vaccination checks of some sort are an inevitable result of market forces. It would have taken egregious government actions to prevent them, and this government won’t.

Did you keep your older child home from daycare when your second one was a newborn? I was thinking to at least keep my daughter home for the first two weeks so she can help bond with the baby , but my husband is worried that’s too much time away from daycare for her..that she’s already going to be confused and flooded with emotions that she should have her routine yet. I’m also a little worried about covid and any illness getting into our house with him being born in January.

Hello mamas, I have a 6 months old and dad and I both work long hours so we hired a housekeeper while I was on maternity to help with the cooking cleaning etc and to eventually care for our little one when I go back to work.
