I’ve been a high performing IC at my company for 5 years, and every time a manager role comes up that I want to go for, I’m told that ‘it will be a pay cut’ and ‘I might be bored moving to management’ etc…I’m already the most senior sales rep in the office & regularly help out teammates. I feel ready to try and make the move to manager, but I’m always told to ‘hang in there as things might come up that will be more fitting later’. I feel I won’t ever get the opportunity to lead. Any advice?

Why do senior level account and sales people pile on to client meetings and pitches when they only emcee the meeting or even worse don’t say anything. It’s ok if it’s just one key relationship lead, but there’s like 5 of them every meeting. I thought participation points were for millennials but I guess older folks are now going after them too?

Strategy folks - how do you get good at … strategy? Recently started at a startup in a role where I’m the only person under the head of our product team who handles the strategy-focus of the company. He wants me to take more ownership from him and I want to crush it but have no relevant experience here and am still fairly junior. Any books or classes? Or is it just trial by fire.
Merrill Advisors - I have a client with an account at Merrill and am told that they have a money fund available which insures up to an aggregate of $5,000,000 in FDIC coverage. Is this a CDARs program and they are misinformed or does such a program exist and what is it called? I was told $5mm in coverage with daily liquidity which obviously wouldn’t apply to CDARs. Many thanks!
I'm not ready to commit to serious dating and a relationship, but I also feel like everyone I meet either works for my employer or my client. Idk how to date über these circumstances.
What option of the following would you pick if you were targeting M7 for 2022 start? A) Stay at ACN for the recommendations (will matriculate as a consultant w/ 4 YOE) B) Move to Europe and take current offer at a small startup <10 people for a Business Dev role with way more responsibility than what I’m doing now C) Find an offer at a larger, more established startup (like Shopify) but potentially in a role with less responsibility
