I need to know if I’ve pigeon-holed myself. I have an undergrad in music business, and got a lot of good experience then. Worked in live events for 4 years before returning to law school, intending to practice in entertainment law (specifically music). Got a summer internship at a boutique entertainment firm, but no offer due to the small market. Moved to a larger market, but I’m not in one of the “hotspots”. I’m in-house currently, and have moved up quickly. (Cont.)
If I did an internship, should I remove it on LinkedIn to help recruiters? Because if recruiters just look at YOE, would they screen me out when looking at my dates being 1yr too long for my title?
When I was an intern, a partner told me that time is more valuable than money. In my head I was like "not yet it isn't"
2 YOE in financial services Corporate Strategy hoping to transition to tech, will be heading to an M7 MBA next year. Looking for a pre-MBA internship at a tech-driven startup before then - please let me know if you have any leads!
I just finished an art direction internship in LA I’m and looking for what’s next. I’m happy to stay in LA or move to NYC. Any leads would be appreciated!

Would anyone from McKinsey Canada be willing to briefly connect? I'm interested in applying to the Business Analyst Intern role but am from a non target bschool. I have experiences that demonstrate analytical skills, independence, teamwork and communication and have decent casing experiences along with a great GPA. Would very much appreciate the opportunity to have a conversation!! McKinsey & Company
What is the best way to apply for internship at big4? Go to a recruiter on campus or apply on their website. Seeking internship.
Intern here. I need ties for work, and Brooks Brothers has a great sale on ties- looking for silk printed ties. Any opinions on them?
College kids need to stop putting on their linkedin title “virtual intern at Goldman Sachs, BCG...” those aren’t even real internships (I’m referring to those mock experiences offered by third-party websites, not talking about real interns who had to go virtual this year, not talking about leadership summits either which is a much different story)
Do you count internships in your years of experience? What if it was a long internship that didn't feel like interning and just felt like full-time but was labeled internship?
What can I do to get hired at my agency? Ive been an intern for almost 9 months already and it seems like all I do is resize banners. I know I could leave but it is my dream agency and CONT.
Were anybody gradschool interns here at b4 midsize? I'm going to graduate right after my internship ends and wanted to know if it's typical to start right away instead of the year gap for undergrad.
Had an intern whom I could not recommend for hire. She didn’t report to me directly so I never gave her feedback directly. She just asked if she can list me as a reference How would you respond?
Beginner interning at PwC this summer. Nervous about expectations but planning to get Security+ and messing around w/ other tools. What can I expect and any infoSec intern advice?
What makes a successful intern application video? The bane of my existence. Wanting to v/o or show my face in it the whole time.
Up for manager but currently staffed in an Intern-like role, grossly under underutilized and starting to feel the client feels I'm a waste of money (I agree). How do I make the most of my situation?
Anyone heard anything from droga on their internship this summer? Happening? Not? Anyone being interviewed?
Recently, I have applied an internship at EY, but I didn’t received the assessment test. Does anyone know why？Thank you！EY
How do you know if you’re in the hot seat/might get fired or if it’s just paranoia? I feel constantly on edge...
What are the ledger growth expectations (dollars or %) at your firm this year? I’m finishing the first year as a new tax partner (not B4). Started with 1.9million ledger and grew to 2.7million with pipeline worked from past years that turned to wins. The pandemic hasn’t allowed much time or travel to refill the pipeline. Now there’s pressure to add 500k and grow to 3.2million by end of 2nd year. Feels like a big number for a second year tax partner.
Just got told by managers that my performance hasn't met their expectations. High performer last year. Am I getting fired?
If I Venmo my brother $5000 with a credit card, and he then cashes out to chase, and then transfers back to me via chase...would that meet the minimum spend for a cc? Obviously there is a 3% fee
What happens if you don’t hit your billable hours? I am a first-year that had a very slow February and slow start to March. I’ve been reaching out to various teams for work but things seem slow now & I’m worried that I’m not going to hit my 1800 target.
Is it worth asking my Europe-based b-school classmate/s to refer me for a US role? How does it work?
When interviewing for different firms, does the interviewer actually expect you to answer a question like “why are you considering our firm?” with anything other than 💵?
Help a socially awkward fella out. Got a large bonus from a consulting project team with personal note ccing the other key member. I didnt know how to respond but did say thank you to the director in person. Should i still reply to that email?
Any book recommendations for soft skills at an agency/studio? For stuff like giving feedback, meetings, presentations, client interaction, etc.
Post your unpopular opinion. I’ll start: Layoffs are good for firms. It keeps the top-performers, aligns reality with company’s expectations, and as a result, brings better work.
Am currently on H1b status and have been since oct 2019 (so no h1b visa stamp in passport). I am planning to travel to Hong Kong to get my visa stamping done. Does Trump’s proclamation prevent me from entering the States before 2021?
Not cpa related, but if anyone is applying to pwc start internship 2021 and you identify as a minority you can "present yourself as a minority" and a recruiter will refer you to a web page to see if you meet this criteria. Basically it looks like you'll get preferential treatment if you meet the criteria. Firm is really pushing diversity it would seem
Let’s pretend we’re holding companies. I’ll start: No, we can’t hire an extra writer even though you’re clocking 70+ hours a week. BTW, our contract with your client caps billable hours per employee because they know we don’t pay overtime. Here’s a non-billable code you should start using for the rest of the year.
Expecting a baby this summer. Should I still be looking for other job opportunities? EY has a very generous paternity leave if you’ve been with the firm for 1+ years, but not sure if I would have the same opportunity to take 2-3 months leave if I switch jobs. Can I potentially work parental leave into negotiations?
Working an expo / benefits fair: what have you done that has worked in getting people to your table, and peaking their interest in an appointment? (Details continued in post)
Just received an offer from another big 4 firm that was substantially less than I currently make (more than 10%). Do you guys think it is worth negotiating or should I just pass on it?
If you have 10 days PTO left, can you just serve your last 2 weeks on PTO if you give two weeks notice? Or would you have to take the PTO after your two weeks notice?
Want to make sure everyone saw this story about how important diversity is to other employees. It was inspiring to read your stories! https://joinfishbowl.com/post_div2oy
