These are on my wishlist: The Soul of Money, Financial Adulting, and the 30-Day Money Cleanse.
I did recently listen to the YNAB book. I think it's better to use the software, build a budget, and read/watch some of the videos.
Also, as a woman, I like to follow women's advice because we live longer, have different expenses, and often get paid less. I follow Delyanne the Money Coach on IG, Millennial in Debt, Fiscal Femme, and Paula Pant (Afford Anything).
There's also a great documentary on Netflix I just watched called "Get Good w/Money."
The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey helped me with saving and spending.

Highly recommend
The most effective thing to do is start with your goals and make those the priority. Too many people try to tackle the spending side first when that’s not where the big step changes in outcomes live.
So set savings rates and big structural payments first (housing, car, taxes). Then worry about trying to make coffee at home or if you should by off-brand clothes once you really understand how much cash flow you have AFTER your big goals are established.

Agreed. I enjoy the show, but it’s not what you are looking for OP.
Most people recommend The Simple Path to Wealth.
🙇 thank you
You don’t need a book. Look up FIRE - financial independence retire early. Even if you don’t want to retire early, the concepts are universal.

Seconded on richest man in Babylon. I’d start with that one, it’s a quick read, highly entertaining, and gets the basic points across as a foundation

Do not follow all of the stuff that Dave Ramsey teaches... I plastectomy and got rid of my OLDEST credit card. That was dumb advice. You need credit cards and a FICO score to do anything if you're not rich.

I don’t even think it’s good advice for paying off debt. Paying the lowest balance first is not the right financial move. Paying off highest interest rate is. He is also extremely debt averse in his recommendations.

Die With Zero was a decent read. It takes a very different perspective to a lot of finance books and it helped me think about saving and spending from a different perspective.
@ad1 - the debt snowball can help you feel like you're actually making progress. But, my financial advisor has advised to look at the highest interest rates. So there's definitely multiple schools of thought on debt pay down.
Thank you! I agree on how it builds psychological motivation.
