Signing bonus Q - has anybody had to pay a signing bonus back because of leaving less than the time stipulated in the offer? What was the mechanism for the company to claim the bonus - take it from your last pay stub/PTO balance/can they request a check if you don’t have a remaining ‘Accounts Payable’ balance with the company? Asking for my spouse. She is five months pregnant and has a amazon offer. She works for Deloitte too. Deloitte definitely has a better maternity leave but amazon is doubling her take home salary. Also agreed to work from home for two years. Thoughts? I am due to take 2 weeks parental leave sometime in the next month and have an offer lined up. Is it better to tell the new place I would prefer to push my start date to take my leave and join two weeks after (accounting for 2 weeks of notice when I get back)? My husband has ~6 years of experience (2 yrs midsize PA plus various industry roles) so the senior title is low but have heard you have to take a step down in title to work at Fortune 25 companies. He likes the offer but not sure if he should negotiate for more because it’s expected?
