We have mosquito Joe come and spray. We have chickens though so we need to do the all natural one. It works well usually.

I don't know what spray is used when MJ comes. But we are in a damp wooded area, so whatever they use obviously works well. Not sure if there's a service by you for that.

But my mom uses those Off Candles on her deck. They work well.

Garlic oil diluted with water, in any spray bottle. Works like a charm, however if you live in a rainy area you will have to respray sooner then later, if not you can be mosquito free for about a month. Highly recommend, I resorted to that after I bought a ton of citronella plants and didn't see any less mosquitos but with the garlic oil, it actually works. Don't worry about the smell it goes away in about a hour but the mosquitos will still smell and will avoid. Look up the ratio for the spray on google.

Dump all containers that have standing water once a week. Even if it’s a tiny puddle, mosquito larvae can grow. Sprays are largely ineffective. I was on a Zika task force back in the day when that was threat.

Following for non toxic options. Have same issue but in my NYC bedroom. (Twice a week, I wake up between 2:45-3:30am to burning bites and then stay up for an hour to kill the culprit. I’m super grumpy during mosquito season…)

What about chiggers? We have an infestation!

We had a mosquito magnet that worked wonders. Had to keep the gas tank full and it took a few weeks to take effect, but once it was up and running it made all the difference. Our Massachusetts backyard was usable again.

It was called “Mosquito Magnet.” They had different sizes depending on the size of the area you were looking to manage. Basically, it emits carbon dioxide to attract the mosquitoes, traps them, and reduces the number of mosquitoes in the area. Fewer adults means fewer eggs and eventually no new mosquitoes (which is why it takes a few weeks to see the full effect).

Buy a bracelet called Parakito. It’s a Velcro type bracelet with a citronella insert. I wear one on my wrist and one on my ankle and I never get bit anymore. It’s so nice not having to spray bug spray all over my body and feeling sticky and sweaty at the same time.

Mine are insane - his mom said she’d disown him before the wedding, and his sisters went along with it. I have not heard from them since. His mom had this idea of his sisters (both younger than my husband) getting married before him. He’s since reconciled with his family but they literally don’t bother to even talk to me 🙄
