Open an account on vanguard, schwab, or fidelity and start investing in low cost index funds. If you’re really into investing in individual stocks, make sure there are no firm restrictions and do your homework (wouldn’t really recommend it if you’re starting out).

Fidelity is great. Free trades. Our 401k is already managed there. Start with IRA, likely Roth. Once you’ve maxed out 401k, IRA, HSA, open a brokerage account.

THANKS 😊

Open up a brokerage account....dont invest what you’ll need in the next 5 years

like

You can also just use fidelity since that’s who handles our 401k anyway

looking into rolling old 401k into a Roth IRA. I just graduated from MBA and therefore have only worked a few months in 2022. Am I correct in thinking that the taxes I pay will be lower than if I did this in any other year where I worked the full year? Any other drawbacks or things to think about?

Any advice for somebody at the start of their career (2021 graduate) looking to move away from M&A Integrations work into roles where the work is based around "problem -> hypothesis -> analysis -> conclusion" rather than just putting together the puzzle pieces of a deal in the later stages? Would really appreciate advice on what my options might be in or out of consulting, just not loving how things have been going recently.

Went from a big firm to work for a smaller firm. The people in the smaller firm are protective of their work and are good by their work too. I no longer feel chaos or stress. I am treated with respect and my schedule is more normal. I am even working more billable hours than before, but it feels like a seamless experience. I don’t work then past 5pm or anything out of the ordinary for this time of the year. I am so grateful!
