Vitamin D

Collagen, probiotics, omega 3 fatty acids, creatine (for body building), and protein have hard evidence supporting their effectiveness for brain and gut health. The last 2 are more intended for folks who follow a moderate to intense gym routine. Otherwise you should have enough of the last 2 in your daily diet.

Pretty much this (minus collagen), but I'd consider a multivitamin or at least a vitamin D since we are usually deficient in it. But if you're not then feel free to pass.

Depends what youre looking for. Moda/adrafinil are highly effective for wakefulness/focus. Phenibut melts anxiety and is killer for client presentations. Phenylpiracetam + choline is great for mental acuity, memory, energy. Tianeptine is the best mood booster out there, but some people abuse it, so depends on your self control. The usual suspects for working out - creatine, protein, bcaa etc. Caffiene+L-theanine combo

For what it's worth, most of this list are things with highly noticeable acute (immediate) effects, which is my preference as there's less room for placebo. Some would consider them drugs or medication as opposed to nutrition, and that's a fair stance. Still -- if the intention is legal substances with low harm profiles that can improve your potential.... these are some of the best heavy (legal) hitters available. The usual stuff like make sure you're getting high quality sleep, regular exercise, balanced diet should all of course come first. (If diet is tricky for you, look into complete foods like queal and soylent - saved me hours every week and helps cut out excuses).

Bacopa makes a noticeable difference for memory. Proven by studies too.

This one really intrigued me. Never heard of it but did some research and sounds promising. If you take this, what was your experience? Any brand recs?

Australian brands have higher standards than US FDA, so try to go with those as much as possible. You can often find them sold through functional medicine doctors in your area.

Fiber can be a good thing to add too. Most people don’t get enough fiber from their diet and it’ll help you feel better overall.

I'm not vegan, but be sure to look at the difference between animal collagen and plant collagen builders. The former is just straight ground up collagen, and the latter helps your body make its own collagen. I'm happy with Your Superfoods smoothie powders, especially to get more veggies in my diet. Hasn't helped with weight loss because I'm a lazy fucker who hasn't exercised since I went into lock down in March. But I feel significantly better.

Ritual has really well sourced vitamins if looking for a brand

My Dr says almost no one in the untied states gets enough D. He puts all of his patients on it and monitors the levels in the blood. I have a bunch of inflammatory issues and connective tissue problems so I take that, fish oil, turmeric with black pepper extract, co-q-10, glucosamine, and Cinnamon (to cover fish oil burps - yuck). They took time to kick in but my issues have improved.

I really roll my eyes when I hear sweeping generalities like all, no one or everyone. I have never been vitamin D deficient - despite living in Chicago. Red-heads also make their own vitamin D. I could go on and on. No doubt there is mounting evidence that vitamin d supports immunity but I wouldn’t go as far as to say all people living in the US are deficient. And, I doubt I’m the n of 1.

L-Tyosine and L-theanine

Misconception. Supplements increase vitality overall even if you’re not “medically deficient”. As for which? It depends on what you want to get out of supplements.

My doctor had me STOP my multivitamin, but has me take a daily Vitamin D (I was deficient, now I’m not). I also take an odorless fish oil (Trader Joe’s FTW) and a probiotic.

Just joined a smaller firm who uses Paychex for their 401k provider. I noticed they do not offer too many options for funds to invest in and seems lower end than my prior Schwab 401k offered. 1) Anyone have experience with Paychex and have similar observations? 2) I’m leaning towards doing enough 401k pretax contribution on Paychex to get the company match and then do the rest as a Roth IRA to obtain better investments. Any other options I’m not thinking of?

They REALLY prioritize their employees, and the benefits are absolutely incredible. I hear a lot about toxic EA cultures at *certain* other companies and Snap just does not do that.
