Anyone know if the delta “Medallion fast track consulting” promotion begins after the registration period is over or whenever you register?
So I always get my work done, manage a team and have contributed great ideas, but when I spoke to my manager and her manager abt a promotion, the feedback was that I’m not enthusiastic enough. How do you show enthusiasm?
For anyone who grew up in NYC, would you raise your children in the city, and go to a city school?
Would you hop from one B4 to another in the same city for a lateral move to the same position for a roughly $15k pay raise?
Anyone have any tips for negotiating a raise? I am getting a promotion this year but am worried that the raise will be below market. Planning on using Glassdoor to show comparable salaries.
BofA offered a promotion from $160k to $175k, slight title upgrade.
Received 2 offers from Big 4 for tech consulting @ $200k TC ($185k base) as a Manager. Title not as fancy, but BofA cannot match.
I've heard Big 4 can be rough, but is it worth it to make the switch? I currently work 10-12 hours most days on antiquated systems, but it's easy and comfortable. I'm genuinely interested in newer tech, but are the hours and WLB much worse in consulting?
Old boss I like just joined a new company as Global CCO, wants to bring me in as director. I’m happily employed and not a huge fan of his new company, but it’s a double promotion (I’m 27). Thoughts?
I’ve done really well in my 2 years with my current big 4 firm and am coming up for promotion in July. I am sitting on an offer with a step up in title and 40% pay increase. They say grass is not greener on the other side (hello unlimited PTO and all the other terrible comments I’ve read for new firm. Guess who 😂😅) but it’s hard to justify not moving. Am I making a huge mistake leaving behind my 2 year hard work going to the unknown or should I just go for it and take the pay and title!? Help.
Been assigned PM on a customer project about a month and a half ago, but haven't seen any raise/title change.
Customer is vocally happy with how the project is rolling, upper management is also happy. I setup a call with HR to discuss the position and the compensation. Wanted to get a feel of what's fair.
Company of about 50 ppl, and I'm getting a 110k salary for senior software engineer/dev lead position with 7 YOE in this company.
What data should I prep?
Anyone dating or married to someone with different political views? How do you navigate that? Seems to be getting less common nowadays, so just curious for other’s thoughts.
I make 110k as an SA in NYC at big4 not Deloitte. Is a 20% raise standard when I promote to manager? Putting me in the ~132k range? Or is it more?
How do you raise kids to be personally driven?
Would it be wrong of me to put in my two weeks after receiving my bonus, accrued PTO payout, and first check after promotion?
IWD - when people ask why my husband and I don't have kids...cause I'm a senior and I would kiss any chance at an on-time promotion away if I took off 4 months.
My boss left the company about 4 weeks ago. I had been working with him for 7 months on my career advancement. Although I reported directly to him, I also had dotted lines to 3 other directors and a C-level executive. When I approached this topic with the executive, I was advised to wait until the new boss was hired in and discuss my career advancement plans with them. Am I the only one that feels it isn't fair to me to have a new boss come in and determine whether I am fit for a promotion?
Negotiated a raise and got a retention bonus and now when I see many others getting more, I feel like I should’ve asked for more!
I had a great review and a 5.5% raise and a great bonus at my company. But I also got a new Director and a peer manager of mine left the company, so I will be absorbing her team. In addition, my director said I will be receiving 'deep delegation' from them. I don't mind more work, but deep delegation is a new term I've never heard. What does that mean lol?
What are your thoughts on jumping soon after promotion/comp increase?
Does it automatically burn a bridge?
Any insight into Biogen and Vertex’s Director comp, org culture (fit, WLB, retention, etc.), and upward mobility/promotion culture. For comp, ranges (ideally actual offer data) as well as flexibility would be helpful in applying.
When interviewing for different firms, does the interviewer actually expect you to answer a question like “why are you considering our firm?” with anything other than 💵?
Made it to the Technical Assessment portion of the interview process. Need to take brand elements and create an ad using photos, fonts, logos, etc. Seems super easy and there’s not much actual designing involved. But assuming it’s supposed to be and they just want to see I can follow the brand guidelines. They’ve seen plenty of my actual design work and we’ve discussed what I’ve done in my career. I’ve typically been asked to design something from scratch. Does that sound right?
BCG folks - I was looking to apply as an experienced hire (interviewing at McK soon so figured if I’m case prepping might as well try other opps as well). I was talking to someone at BCG who mentioned that BCG experienced hire recruiting typically happens in the fall (oct/nov timeframe), but I’ve also seen many posts about BCG recruiting heavily right now. Anyone have any insight on this? Boston Consulting Group
Anyone at Microsoft willing to chat about a role I’m interested in applying to? Looking for some resume feedback and general tips on getting an interview!
What’s a thoughtful gift I can get/make/write my girlfriend for her birthday tomorrow? My gift never got delivered 😞
Can anyone throw some light on type of case studies for consultant role - finance M&A at EYP as an experienced lateral hire? Wondering if they ask market sizing, etc questions for their strategy and transaction execution team?
